@judgedread really want rfk jr to go to confirmation hearings
listening to him rattle off how much pharma money each senator gets after they ask him a question would be kino af
-
@judgedread ARE YOU LISTENING SANTA CLAUS?
-
@sickburnbro locally i see a lot of people buying mid-priced ones for Airbnb/rentals
they all think they're going to become rich landlords
-
@WhiteApe @BarelyEagle @butterbutt @cajax @anemone @matrix i've seen them
they're evaporated milkers at best
-
@ACL9000 @Clapp @WilhelmIII @s2208 @Will2Power i have no real information on what it's like out there for dudes right now, but from what i've seen it's a nightmare if you are just a regular dude
online dating just seems like a bad idea from the jump
regular dudes will treat it like it's Call of Duty and take it seriously, but the chicks will treat it like it's DoorDash
your average woman is marinating in a stew of "i can have babies any time" and "all men will rape me", so cold approaches seem closer to navigating a minefield
i dunno
take up chess and go to chess club meetings and pick up an autistic chess chick? i got nothin

@thefinn @IceCubeSoup @Vulpes_Quartus sometimes Americans live up to the stereotypes and then some

@thefinn unicorns
at the Twin Peaks
what is this madness
-
@p @realman543 @TeaTootler @graf @Hyperhidrosis what's the keyboard like?
-
@p thanks! i like the thing, but couldn't get a real feel of what people thought of the keyboard; your description helps a lot
-
@p i got up to astonishing speeds with the old blackberry keyboards, i can see that
-
@DW2 @TrevorGoodchild @Kalogerosstilitis2RevengeoftheJunta @EscapeVelo the millennials will be interesting to watch
they are bathed in the baptistry of globohomo and also incessantly online
combined with a kind of narcissism you get from accepting social media into their hearts, we'll have a complete miniseries in 10 minute increments

@p @sun this poast turned me into uncle ted

@philmchawk @judgedread victory gardens were meant to be supplemental, not sufficient
the actual numbers for full self-sufficiency are all over the place, but 1-2 acres per person is probably the realistic rock bottom
call it 10 acres for a family of five
collapse means your water source is sketch
also means no electricity, which means no heat
(wood stove? okay, quadruple your acreage req's, and those had better be full of good hardwoods)
before getting too sure of yourself i recommend going out into the woods with nothing but an axe and the clothes on your back and see if you can make it a week
(no you can't do this in spring: dead of winter or high summer only)
-
@EvilSandmich @philmchawk @judgedread Yeah, three is more realistic, as any serious agriculture requires rotation, space for water capture and retention, etc.
It's why these numpties annoy me so much. I'd be more inclined to listen to their googled ideas if they had nine kids to help out around the fantasy farm, but they don't.

@deprecated_ii @billiam dynamic linking, if it hadn't been needed to keep disk/memory usage smol, would prob have been invented anyway
e.g., update openssl once instead every application that uses it
just kind of a function of how things got developed using anti-NIH principles
now that we make everything "just do this one thing and nothing else" static linking makes sense again
-
@judgedread @HeliRides3000 any practical steal will require mail-in ballots
dunno how many precincts still have that in effect, but at <4 months, there won't be any new ones
if they go bold and just start scratching out numbers, making 4s into 9s or whatever, that'll be hardball
the only question then is do they think they can pull that off and not cause a nationwide pants shitting
-
@Paultron @MK2boogaloo yep, gonna need a hug and some high grade smack now

@epictittus @mothersmurfer @lovelymiss @Aly “You must then know the sea, and know that you know it, and not forget that it was made to be sailed over.”
--Joshua Slocum, 'Sailing Alone Around the World'
-
@mothersmurfer @epictittus @lovelymiss @Aly The danger of the sea is very real, and only fools think otherwise. But that danger is part of the allure. You stand resolute in the wild face of Creation and fight to conquer it, but even in victory you are humbled.

@WashedOutGundamPilot @coolboymew this poast started out ordinary
with an interesting, thought provoking, possibly controversial idea
and then it took a sharp turn right at the end
