He was like the silent film actors who couldn't make the change to the talkies. This early material was all text with some pics, but when he tried video content he fell flat on his face because his appearance and demeanor didn't match the persona he had created.

Had a fast nvme drive and windows 11 preinstalled. The biggest bottleneck with windows is the hard drive, so a fast SSD is a must, as well as at least 16 gigs of ram. Made a good gift for my normie parents, especially compared to the sluggish POS they had before.

@WashedOutGundamPilot I have the worst of luck with USB-C. They never seem to latch right in my cellphone or laptop port, no matter how much I try to clean them. They constantly fill up with dirt and grime which requires me to fashion a small pick from whatever plastic I have lying around (never use anything metal) to clean it.

I’ve had the most luck when buying my cables at truck stops, strangely enough. Best buy and walmart cables just plain suck. And don’t even get me started on the inconsistencies in the alleged “standard.”

He’d also have to ditch his sailfoam, which might be a big ask given how addicted some of the zoomers are to them. He might have better luck if he somehow manages to convince the Amish to hide him in exchange for manual labor on their farms.

Then there’s the warmongering boomer relatives who will try to shame them into fighting for uncle Scam so they can keep collecting their fat social security checks. If that doesn’t work they’ll dime them out to the feds.

Given how determined Ukraine is to draft every 12 year old boy and 60 year old man, if desperate enough I believe the US gov. will make the effort to shanghai men into the army. They may try to press local law enforcement into doing the work, or they may federalize the NG units to do it. They will recruit non-citizen goons with promises of citizenship if they help abduct American men into the military. You may think the 2nd amendment would prevent that, but it doesn’t work unless people are willing to pull the trigger. Thus far they have shown no will to do so.

@givenup @Shadowman311 Thing is, if the US gets involved they’re gonna have to pull troops from somewhere else. The military is already stretched pretty thin, and they aren’t meeting their recruitment numbers. They’d have to give up any pretense of being able to protect Taiwan from China if there were an invasion.

I still can’t quite wrap my head around how the IDF got their shit pushed in by the aloha snackbars. The way they just fled and let their tanks and personnel carriers fall into the hands of their enemies. The experts said they were one of the best militaries in the world. I guess things have changed.

@SK1ZM @WashedOutGundamPilot IIRC there’s also a lot of manipulation in the silver market. With all the inflation you’d think it would go up but as far as I can tell it’s been hovering around the same range for the past several years.

I don’t have a lot of money in PMs, but I do like to keep some on hand just in case. That and I like shiny things.

As far as barter in a shtf situation goes, you will probably do most of it in terms of the actual goods you produce. Also, carrying around a bunch of silver/gold coins is a good way to get robbed or worse. You’d be better off carrying extra ammo. The coins will come in handy when things start to return to some form of normal, assuming the new warlord in charge isn’t some thieving asshole himself.

I was going nowhere for years. Finally I couldn’t take the “freedom” anymore and willingly signed myself over to Uncle Scam for four years of military service. Learned some stuff and used it to find better work when I got out. If I hadn’t done that I’d probably have suicided by now.

I no longer recommend it, but for what it’s worth I can understand why some young men still do it. Three hots and a cot, your medical expenses are covered, and they pay for your training. This modern system of debt slavery for education and training of dubious value is a horrible deal in comparison.

Yeah fuck em. I hope uncle SCAM abducts all their children and chucks them into the meat grinder. And then when they need more they start drafting these 40 - 50 year old karens to be turned into wormfood too.

Yeah good luck with that. The whole reason they abandoned the draft and went to a volunteer force in the first place was to stop people from bitching about US involvement in the Vietnam war. People are suddenly going to be very interested in the fact that we have troops stationed all over the fucking world when Uncle CSAM starts shanghaiing their children into the army.

I always took advantage of the fact that there are also set asides for veterans. I have no idea where I’d be if I didn’t have a DD-214 with honorable discharge.
