@qwerty @RustyCrab Mobius strip desk still superior.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @dogslurp Also I don't think streams are a good format for him. He's hilarious when he's riffing on an idea or doing a skit. But banter with chat retards for hours on end, just trying to generate content, doesn't generally work for his humor. I think he's only doing it because it's the last semi-feasible way for entertainers to make money online.
Even the best comedians can't be funny every hour of every day.

@coolboymew 8 MB? That's overkill, no one will ever need that much storage for 4 games.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @Shlomo Trump sucked at staffing too, but not nearly this bad.
-
@Shlomo If only we had a President with enough foresight to focus the military on space, aligning an entire branch to deal with it in force. Some kind of Space Force, if you will...
-
@deprecated_ii @WashedOutGundamPilot @BroDrillard @IAMAL_PHARIUS That requires balls. The story is about Californians.

@deprecated_ii @IAMAL_PHARIUS This.

@deprecated_ii She's the exact kind of woman who would see a guy say the same thing, and recite the "men today need to man up" litany her feminist professors taught her.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @nugger Skip to 10:00, they shoot 300 blackout at 100 meters. You basically can't hear it, but the 8.6 after it is zippy.
-
@nugger Isn't the point that it's quieter?
-
@nugger I dunno, but according to this very scientific video of Youtubers getting shot at, different subsonic rounds sound very different from each other. Presumably there's something specific to the .300 you might prefer.

@WashedOutGundamPilot When I was thinking about these scenarios as a kid, my plan was "immediately go to the library and take all the technical books". Now that everything's digital (and I have my own physical backups), it's less of a problem. But you're right that nobody has a human knowledge preservation plan.
My thinking now is that it's entirely dependent on how fast the cities would fall. Smaller communities could circle up and preserve whatever they were doing pre-fall. If they had manufacturing in rural areas, the workers are likely nearby, and you could conceivably preserve that.
But if we have a slow collapse, with repeated waves streaming out of the cities to pick the countryside bare, then it's all gone.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot Anyone who ever worked on a machine like this will be immediately sequestered inside a power plant. They won't get around to trying manufacturing again for a decade at least.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot It sounds like someone already did that.
Rolling Stone clearly picked this woman because she isn't a newbie OF-pitching, Insta-thot striver, the ones seething about feminism and providing us with salty screencaps. She's gone through the porn grind enough to be jaded and sarcastic, at least in text.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @caekislove The one I always heard was that seatbelts were around for a decade before someone put a woman on the car design team. The woman pointed out cross-chest seat belts were sized for men, not shorter women or children who would slip out underneath; so they changed the design and saved more lives.
Problem is, I can't find confirmation of that story anywhere. And it turns out seatbelts were invented and used in multiple places simultaneously, so it might just be apocryphal and only happened at 1 company.

@mangeurdenuage @iwillbite No. Americans are practical, we need fast and useful measurements that can be applied hundreds of times a day using only our fingers and a stick.
Weenies in lab coats need precision and decimal points. They can use whatever they want (and American weenies do use metric a lot).
-
@mangeurdenuage @iwillbite See? Metric causes nothing but problems. But NASA is so far gone with their diversity hires, they have to use the inferior system that can't even handle dividing by 3.

Buying 7.62x54R ammo at $30/round on Escape From Tarkov... too real bro, gaming is supposed to be my escape from real life problems :weary_yell:
-
@boburtle Sounds like she just got her first real job, post-MeToo.
-
@PeachySummer @Terry Also, much better molotov construction than the disasters idiots were throwing in 2020. Nice to see competence on the proper side.
