   There's a clip of sam hyde from an old show appearance like 10 years ago and it really shows how testosterone makes you a joyless douche

   he's laughing and kidding around, has upbeat energy, whereas all he does now is cough, hack, gurgle, at all hours of the day. Didn't really notice until someone showed me, it just goes to show that he hasn't been able to laugh like he used to. Probably why nothing funny has come out in years, every time I see something from his crew it's him giving retards very basic dad-advice

     @WashedOutGundamPilot Oh, he's on testosterone? That makes sense. I thought it was just he was around a lot of unfunny losers. I found him late so I never got the appeal.

     @dogslurp Pretty sure. Seems like a lot of guys will watch his streams but it's just the most low-quality money grubbing around, you sit and listen to him loudly chew goyslop into the mic, hock up phlegm every 10 seconds, and sit in irritated silence while his inept $9/hr zoomers leverage their 8th grade reading levels to voice viewer tips

     I know I've seen a couple chuckles lately, but a guy turned it on w/ me the other day and I was just baffled, even moreso than vtubers. At least they tend to have peppy, upbeat energy. Sam hyde streams today just feel like hanging out with a bitter divorced dad.

     I just didn't realize it until I saw the old him, puts it in perspective what he's lost w/o even realizing it.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot I agree with you but I gotta say, yesterday I watched some clips of him playing fallout 1 and he was doing some pretty funny voices and it made me laugh. I hadn't looked at his stuff in years before yesterday, because of the reasons you wrote there.

     @CatLord I know there are some high points but I'm not wading through 5 hrs of loud eating and burping to get a mini-chuckle joke. What's weird is that most of the clips are more serious and unfunny too, when I tried to remember what's made me laugh from him lately I can't even tell you what it was

     That Idubz gaslighting doc was the last actual hard laugh I can think of

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @dogslurp It makes me sad because I have a lot of nostalgia for him and the era I associate him with and his old stuff has aged really well. Sometimes I wonder if part of the problem is familiarity and contempt, it's hard for someone to be "on" and streaming is not really suited to him. But he also clearly hasn't transitioned to middle age well, the bachelor/playboy (if the rumours are correct) lifestyle clearly doesn't support his health, being surrounded by obvious drug addicts who he looks down on can't be socially beneficial, his issues with women are really obvious (I know, whatever, but women are women and you can't fault them for their nature just understand and work with it and don't let it fuck with you). He's clearly spent way too much time in shithole urban areas thinking that driving around the hood makes him a tough warrior when there's 50 black guys probably driving around the same hood thinking the same thing. You look at the shit he eats, the squalor he lives in, his various back/neck injuries, things like the persistent cough, I don't see any future for him but decline. He really missed the boat for like right wing Greco-Roman stoic philosophy stuff where taking care of yourself is a big part of things. Instead it seems like he'd prefer to be bitter and self-destructive and that's not a good model for young right wing men. I get the sense he feels guilty about not being a good role model and wants to sort of recuse himself from it and just be a comedian, but that feels like a kind of cowardice - why not step up? It's not like he's any worse than a Peterson or Tate, the advice is better at least. But the problem with lifestyle influencers is they're always hypocrites I guess and he'd rather be an open degenerate. Just some thoughts.

     @interalia @dogslurp That's all what I've noticed from the bits and pieces. I think sam suffers from that "Gifted Kid Syndrome" that so many in our cohort have. Had a very interesting convo the other day about Chris Langan in a similar vein - the guy is smart, but utterly worthless in the big world. He lives entirely for himself on a backwater farm, doing nothing to push back against the things he hates.

     It's fine to live for yourself under some philosophies, but doing so without a family is a particular type of slow-motion death. There's something about being able to see all the sins of the world on its face that can paralyze you, drown you in bunk data so you sit in place, year after year, spinning your wheels.

     (In some respects I'm in that boat too, but not for lack of trying)

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @dogslurp Also I don't think streams are a good format for him. He's hilarious when he's riffing on an idea or doing a skit. But banter with chat retards for hours on end, just trying to generate content, doesn't generally work for his humor. I think he's only doing it because it's the last semi-feasible way for entertainers to make money online. Even the best comedians can't be funny every hour of every day.

     @PunishedD @dogslurp I need to find the clip but it's really interesting because it clicks. It clearly demonstrates that he was higher energy, funnier, more 'on' in a comedic sense than he is now. It's the diff. between a C+ student and an A- one. Today, sam can't carry a show solo and make something that's rewatchable, engaging, energizing like he could back then.

     Seeing it really clicked in why I've never liked hanging around with people who get really into TRT. I've known a few and invariably we just don't mesh, they no longer come to our hangouts. It changes your mindset, you're always in angry warrior mode.

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @dogslurp Yes, especially as I get older, it becomes clear that starting a family is essentially a requirement. I could buy that you might have someone whose life is totally dedicated to a specialty skill or to political or spiritual leadership, where they pass along their essence through followers and apprentices, but we're not there yet and things might not get there until the day there is a full re-emergence of organic communities and retribalization. Most people who choose to disconnect from society are the ones who have little keeping them there, which usually means they're reclusive and poorly socialized and not likely to be socially influential. It's best for social leaders to stay connected. But there's really no substitute for the community that surrounds the leader, and a strong leader will form a community around themselves. I think there's too many people who think they can be leaders through the internet and just end up playing the eceleb influencer game.

     @interalia @dogslurp My pet bugbear is that nobody realizes how much lesser life is without the presence of children. They're an anchoring element, they remind you of innocence, goodness, happiness, joy, growth, nutrition, just being a part of your weekly tapestry roots you to things that are easily lost in the bustle of adult pleasures and labor.

     Everything I love in life gets a little stale all alone, but bringing the family kids into it? It's a blast. Shooting, riding, flying, biking, all those lessons and trevails are now quality time, helping to build the next generation up into better men than we are. It's better all the way down, like sitting there after a rough hike, watching the stars and helping your son chart a course that avoids the mines you sailed right into at his age.

     @Innsmouth_Mayor @adequate @MeBigbrain @GoodBoyUV Notice that it's all the fury that makes it though. I liked his "GET THAT UGLY THING OUTTA MY FACE" bit a lot, too, but that's the only speed he has in the transmission now. 1 through 6 are all variations of ANGRY and FURIOUS.
