@WashedOutGundamPilot @Dicer The problem is the people doing the critique can't make anything even 10% as good as what they're talking about and making youtube videos is a craft that people can actually excel at.

I was spoiled early on by Every Frame A Painting, a short-lived channel that critiqued film editing, made by a film editor. So the videos are good in their own right, it's not just "oh I like Jackie Chan so I like this guy's Jackie Chan video".

Very few people put that much effort into things these days. Well, I'm no better...

@monkyyy I once got an interview for some kind of menial warehouse job that paid well and when asked why I wanted the job I said "for the money". I later realized this was a bad answer. I much later realized it was actually a good answer because the kind of idiot who'd take a menial warehouse job and consider it good money would make for a good hire.

Of course the interviewer was a disinterested woman, as was so often the case.
