@coolboymew @i @realcaseyrollins Maybe, but moot point because I upgraded to ssd anyway. The laptop ran win10 fine for years. I really think win10 updates killed it. In the old days I would have just locked it on an old version, but you can't do that anymore for security reasons.

@coolboymew @i @realcaseyrollins I have an old win10 laptop that eventually started performing very poorly. It was thrashing constantly. I reinstalled windows and that helped a little, but performance was still bad.
I just upgraded the memory and hard drive (to ssd) and installed Linux. I know it's an unfair comparison because I upgraded the hardware, but Linux is running great.

@coolboymew The Dr. Mario mobile game was actually incredible. The Versus mode was a gem. It's a shame it didn't do well. And it's a shame that no one in the community figured out how to keep it alive after the shutdown.

3/28/2023: I hack my 3DS and install whatever I want on it.
I have zero issue pirating things that companies no longer sell.

@coolboymew @Moon @lebronjames75 @why NFTs could be used for cool things in games. There is zero percent chance that a big game company will use NFTs for cool things. Disruptive innovation almost always comes from new/small companies, and it almost always starts by targeting under-served markets. The problem with most crypto companies/crypto nerds is that they are so focused on making money that they don't understand that their products have to fulfill an actual market need.

@coolboymew @ROYALTY The switch was not announced until October before a March release. The "NX" project was announced two years before the Switch's release. I expect a "new console" announcement with no name and no details soonish. New console approximately March, 2024. I love the Switch, but it is on its last legs and everyone knows it.

@coolboymew @futt @technomancy Big tech could have been profitable long ago, but they have been in "growth mode" forever. If you run two of the largest sites on the Internet (Google & Youtube), how much growth are you going to have? These companies should have trimmed staff to become profitable years ago. Now that we are in a recession, layoffs are inevitable.

@coolboymew I gave up on LRG because their shipping times are out of control. They still estimate shipping at 4-6 months, but almost everything is taking 10 - 14 months. I still have two outstanding orders with them from the first half of last year.
