@Dullahan I was an asthmatic and always carried an inhaler in my backpack. Had I followed school rules, that inhaler would have been locked in the nurse's office, useless.in case of an asthma attack. By the time someone got to the nurse's office, found the nurse, had her unlock the medicine cabinet, and gotten back to me, I would have been dead. Thankfully I never had a problem, but I definitely had teachers that would have joyfully gotten me in trouble if they knew I had it.
Vapes were not invented yet, but I had plenty of classmates who smoked.
Public schools suck.

@coolboymew @wakarimasen @Tsuki @kirby Steam deck and steam deck like "consoles" could kill traditional consoles.

@coolboymew @kirby Mario Odyssey 2 was announced seven years ago and there's been absolutely no news for years. I'm hoping it's a launch title for switch 2. It's a safe bet there will be other surprises too.

@coolboymew @Moon According to the US constitution, "time and manner" of elections are supposed to be determined by state legislatures. What we have today is a mess of state officials making rules, courts interfering and making their own rules, and even huge county by county variances in how elections are run. And anyone who questions it is an election denier.
The Democratic Party has gotten very good at manipulating elections. Even if you believe the 2020 election was on the up and up, the Democrats have stolen a Senate seat and a governorship. At minimum. Using the same exact playbook as the 2000 Gore campaign. After a huge amount of negative press, courts aren't willing to stop them anymore.
-
@Moon The supreme court stopped the recount because Democratic Party controlled counties were using more lax rules to count ballots that would have been disqualified in red counties.

@coolboymew Nintendo deployed a sophisticated anti piracy feature to keep people from emulating GBA rereleases of nes games. ROFL, sounds like a complete waste of time for everyone.

@coolboymew I have to deal with this all the time. It sucks. I have a renewal with a company that used to provide up front pricing, but now I have to request a quote for the renewal. We just need our stuff to keep working, but now they are going to try to upsell.

@coolboymew @ooignignoktoo @Moon @noyoushutthefuckupdad Next gen smash needs to be rebooted. Mario kart too. Both series are getting stale.
-
@coolboymew @lewdum Hopefully they don't break yt-dlp. I can find tons of stuff on youtube that isn't available anywhere else. It would suck if we could no longer download. I honestly don't care at all about ads, as long as we can still download.

@TheMadPirate @xianc78 "Inheritance" tax is meant to kick down middle class families that knock on the door of wealth. Wealthy families rarely pay it. It is easy to dodge if you plan for it. Whole life insurance is a common way to dodge it. Life insurance proceeds aren't taxed, so you just put all your assets in a whole life insurance policy, and they pass untaxed to your heirs.
Income tax is also really bad because it skews incentives. Work hard, earn more, but really earn less because your tax rate just went up.

@coolboymew I hate the ilumiati.

@coolboymew new Kenshin anime? Kenshin was popular when I was into anime twenty years ago lol.

@xianc78 The availability of cheap shared hosting convinced me to learn php in the 00s.

@coolboymew Minetest is open source and amazing.

Metroid Rogue Dawn is now installed on my 3ds :)
We will see how much I play it. I started a Mario rpg playthrough a while back. I did finish donkey Kong 94 on my 3ds, but that is the perfect "pick up and play for ten minutes" game.
-
@coolboymew I should put rogue dawn on my 3ds.
-
@coolboymew ooh I have to play this.
