I never realized that millennials are already getting in on being "the last ones with a good childhood". My pet zoomerette keeps listening to some playlist of "pop punk anthems" and all the comments are talking up how amazing life was being a teenager in the 00's, like those music videos were what parties are like.
In her head, everything was better, a world apart, but the way I remember it kids still were on their phones all the time and hardly anyone knew how to dance at prom. We spent a lot of time wandering around and loitering, we never hooked up with the hot chicks we wanted, and we drove around in shitbox econo cars handed down from our moms.
If you ask her, we all drove suped-up imports like fast and furious, everybody lived in the moment, and nobody had any reason to be bummed out. Funny
