     @Dicer I don't quite understand this type of media but I get how it can be fun to really chew the fat on something you really like. It's fun to dissect something of excellent quality and marvel at all the little parts, the work put into each detail.

     I was just talking to someone about a product they make at his job, wishing I had a full hour long documentary about all the decisions and thinking that went into it

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @Dicer The problem is the people doing the critique can't make anything even 10% as good as what they're talking about and making youtube videos is a craft that people can actually excel at.
     
     I was spoiled early on by Every Frame A Painting, a short-lived channel that critiqued film editing, made by a film editor. So the videos are good in their own right, it's not just "oh I like Jackie Chan so I like this guy's Jackie Chan video".
     
     Very few people put that much effort into things these days. Well, I'm no better...

     @dogslurp @Dicer Yeah, I know a creative who gets pretty good work, hanging out w/ him is fun just watching tv because he'll tell you how they did things, how much it cost, the constraints they avoid.

     The problem with indie media is that it's made by losers and lolcows, anyone of success and substance has better shit to do than stream
