@PhenomX6@flaky I remember their implementation of their Mastodon mod being very poorly done, to the point that other servers were getting spammed with glitchy requests, and the question became "is it worth federating with them if their shitty code is destroying our bandwidth bill?" Then there was them not sharing avatars properly and things like that. I'm sure it was worse than I said and others would know more.
@flaky@PhenomX6 Gab tested federation on a beta instance and got roasted so hard that a developer went on a drunken 2 am rant before permanently turning it off. This idiot pretending that we're pro-Gab or something is, again, patently false and further proof that Fediblock types can't be trusted at their word.
@Erik@ishtar I know you won't see this, but posts like this are exactly why people assume "Mastodon Network" types aren't willing to engage in good faith. People on this side have criticized Truth Social and Gab many, many times, not just for their federation practices. As others have stated, including fellow travelers among leftist/liberal circles such as yourself, the issues with Fediblock have more to do with its insanely toxic community, the guilt-by-association practice, the constant purity spiraling, and the public kafkatrapping of other admins by publishing spurious claims as to how they run their instances. Fediblock could potentially be a valuable resource for handling instances that do things like try to scam or post CSAM, but instead it's used as a way for liberal admins to pathologize people disagreeing with them. As with most systems, it's the people that ruin it.
@mimorinka >Heinlein was once supported communism so his fans were all communists They absolutely would say that, and then demand they hold the exact same set of politics that Nancy Pelosi does like your average internet communist. Never assume good faith with this crowd.
@coolboymew@Arkana It stands for "do anything now" and from what I can see is "Poast take generator" rather than the AI being honest. If you ask it non-political questions DAN returns a lie. I'm not saying Poast takes are necessarily lies, but something tells me they're one step ahead of this "jailbreak"
@TheQuQu If you remember when her reputation was "obnoxious limousine lib" or "British Stephen King" before she started spinsterposting, remember to take your back medication
@coolboymew@guizzy@Moon@lanodan@thomaswilburn@vriska Look at the population under 21 and tell me it isn't. It's a long game. Effective politics is when you can change the water and convince all of the dumb fish swimming around in it that it's normal.

☻Watch shit like The Bear and you'll realize that internet poisoning isn't just a thing among localizers, but screenwriters in general. It doesn't get much more cringe than watching some 40-something line cook from inner city Chicago rant about incels and 4chan. And they were trying to prop this show up like it was the next Breaking Bad.
@sparky@PvtProperty@Robert_Edwardly@RupertvonRipp@fishsticks This. Even worse than the college meme is the "high school relationships never work out" and "use high school to play the field and learn how relationships work" ones. You have the best dating pool you will ever see right there at the peak time to get them, and the years after high school are physiologically the easiest to start a family.
No, we were told to wait until our 30s when our careers and student loans gave us a sense of sunken cost and our fertility and libido plummet, and now boomers have to cope with having a bunch of "furbabies" as grandkids.
