I agree that burnout is a major problem for 'net culture as a whole.
Though, I'm not sure whether the 'net has changed or I have. Being in a socially hostile environment where you have to "mask" is sure to turn you off on a subconscious level. Ditto when you feel you're not being productive and being preyed upon by a time vampire. E-relationships feel less real than meatspace.
However, IRL relationships are still subject to the dishonesty of good manners. Church people can be as oversocialized as wokies (that's the whole point of church), just with wholesumb chumgus famly values.
The question of this time is how to network the "sensitive young men"
while in a social fabric that is near totally desintegrated. It seems that you can only cast your net out there and make do with whatever scraps you find. -

Women are more passive, y'know? They may have a subconscious desire for family, but that doesn't mean they will actively pursue it. -

@PhenomX6 The full scope of the smartphone era is foreign to them. Neuroplasticity declines after 30 and you don't have friends with firsthand knowledge of how Zoomers operate. They're just kinda running on autopilot from their own childhood.
I would be very interested to see firsthand how they handled the situation and the details of what happened. Was the kid really in the hands of a master manipulator, or was he more lonely and isolated than the parents are letting on? If he had a gaming addiction and wasn't getting healthy social contact, that would make him especially vulnerable. -
