@cvnt @ArdainianRight You say that, but it's incredibly grating when you have friends and family irl who you'd like to keep in touch with, yet who demand you use dogshit communication means like snapchat and discord. I don't want to deal with normie strangers who deserve it, I want to talk to normie familiars who don't deserve it but are too gosh-darn stupid to understand what's wrong with using them.

I don't care if it's uncultured or childish, chicken nuggets are the modern day mana from heaven and I will be eating a dozen once they've heated up in the oven.

@DemonSixOne @WashedOutGundamPilot It's why I don't feel too bad when accounts here deactivate. Chances are that they're enjoying life a lot more without the constant chatter and noise drowning out what should be restful nights and contemplative days.

@WashedOutGundamPilot I view it as yet another negative byproduct of the politicalization of culture. Instead of focusing on what's actually happening and supporting each other in reality, everyone defaults to throwing half-baked opinions they borrowed from their Internet corner. It wasn't always like this.

@WashedOutGundamPilot It's exactly what happened when the Hawaii fires were happening. Do I think they were probably intentional? Maybe. There was definitely a motive. Do I think Jewish space lasers started the fire? Obviously not, and anyone mentioning that is immediately suspect.

A friend is someone who'd rather spend his time with you than anything else. In the past, there really wasn't any other outlet to spend your time. Now, it's a valuable commodity targeted with precision and monetized by companies. By putting a price tag on time, you have millions of dollars spent trying to take it from you, and you can't get that time back.

Who do you think would win, some relatively pleasant person who wants quality time, or the latest million dollar attention grabber? That's why there are no friends beyond coworkers now.

In the past, you may have had to choose between someone you agree 50% with and someone you agree 80% with, and so you'd be friends with the 80%. It's your "best available friend."

Now with the Internet, you can choose to befriend the 80% agreeable irl guy, or you can befriend the 99% agreeable guy online. The 20% of disagreements irl feel completely intolerable, because you're not forced to cooperate for survival. This also contributes to strenuous familial relationships.

JRPGs slowly becoming a reality, except inverted. All the filler characters look like some character creator randomized mishap and you can spot the main cast because they all look "normal."

@WashedOutGundamPilot @Shadowman311 If I had to guess, I'm probably a few latitudinal lines above you but in the same general region. We have white genX guys here, but they're all still working full time and unfortunately I don't work with them. I'm with the old farts who never had kids and therefore have the excess cash to dick around in the industry. If there's a place beyond work to find the one's playing matchmaker, I don't know where that is.

@DW2 Punk has always been faggy and dumb. It wore a skin suit of "anti establishment" but it really has always meant "low life." It somehow retained that in its subgenres like cyberpunk (high tech low life) but everyone forgets the distinction.

Tats, dyed hair, spikes, leather, etc. all point towards the lifestyle of an unemployable pest who has given up. You can trace fag culture and troons directly back to the punk subculture.

@WashedOutGundamPilot Thanks for pointing this out and articulating it better than I could, but it's funny you post xitter screencaps to make the point when plenty of nupoasties exhibit these exact traits and take every opportunity to quoast-associate themselves with the rest of us.
