@moomin Nah, I'm good.
-
@xianc78 @xianc78 @Bro-Drillard @MeBigbrain Buddy, libertarians have been talking about seasteading since before the Internet existed. Literally, that is not an exaggeration.
You aren't any closer to getting the ancap paradise than you were back when it was still legal to sell machine guns.
-
@xianc78 @xianc78 @Bro-Drillard @MeBigbrain Uh huh, sure. How about we pause this conversation until that actually happens.
Get back to us once the new government-less city with the big box store turns its first quarter of profit.
-
@xianc78 @xianc78 @MeBigbrain @Bro-Drillard And then you look like an idiot in jail.
-
@dew_the_dew @WashedOutGundamPilot Many such cases. Sad!
But it pisses me off when morons like this start sniffing their own farts about how intelligent they are as a "professor". I studied logic in college, I can debate circles around morons like this who crack under the first challenge to their big brained thunks. They're only good for regurgitating someone else's talking points, which is fine for being a nobody professor whose job is to relay other people's greatest ideas to students.
But this fragile fucker thinks he can hang on the Big Bad Internet? He thinks he can WELL ACKSHUALLY in public where a thousand shitposters will challenge every word he types?
GTFO back to your safe space classroom and your stuffy little office that you share with 2 other nobody midwit colleagues.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot "Synecdoche" is not the name of the logical fallacy, it's the "fallacy of division". A synecdoche is when you use division properly, for metaphorical or rhetorical purposes.
Which is extra funny, because here it implies all that racism research really is bunk. That mortgage study, in particular, is cleanly explained by "racist" factors, and you have to twist yourself into denying statistics and rejecting how income disparities work to claim otherwise.
Fuck this overeducated pencil-necked midwit cock sucking dipshit. I hope his life gets ruined and he spends the rest of his days quaking in fear of shadowy, anonymous racist shitposters.
-
@dew_the_dew @WashedOutGundamPilot Yeah, that's kind of what it is. But when you make a faulty argument instead of a rhetorical flourish, you are not then making a synecdoche, you are committing the Fallacy of Divisions.
thoughtco.com/what-is-the-fallacy-of-division-250352
I wouldn't normally make a big deal about the distinction, but he's explicitly talking about "a logical fallacy" before trying and failing to name it.
The dipshit in the screencaps is trying to sound smart, instead of being smart.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot @Boomerman @sickburnbro Francisco d’Anconia, but he used his business and fortune as a trap for the looters who couldn't believe that he would ever fail.
I think a more apt comparison is Elon Musk. He got the SCIENCE! crowd hooked on Tesla, solar power, and space entrepreneurship, then used the money they gave him to buy and gut their favorite platform.

@pyrate @WashedOutGundamPilot @Elliptica @SuperSnekFriend @skylar Try TailsOS, it has an option to include encrypted storage along with the bootable partition. Basically it's clean boot unless you unlock the partition and store stuff there.
-
@pyrate @Elliptica @SuperSnekFriend @WashedOutGundamPilot @skylar Yeah TailsOS isn't the only one, but it's specifically designed for this use case. You just select the "persistent storage" option during the USB drive imaging and it works.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot "nah bro just start the work, it's cool. We have an aggressive schedule, don't want to waste time on red tape!"
-
@Argyrus @c Not only that, video games have expanded to just about every niche a guy might enjoy. It's not just arcade shooters or platformers any more, any kind of strategy or puzzle genre is available and cheap.
It even replaced RL nerd niches like gambling, card games, tabletop gaming, fantasy football, etc.
-
@Awoo But the page on racist literature has nothing to do with incels. Is that from a different section?
-
@c @Argyrus There's a quirk here, the "love videogames" thing is really "filling leisure time with whatever's cheap and engaging". If this happened 25 years ago the headline would say "men who love watching TV", or "men who love hanging out on the porch drinking cheap beer".
Some moron is going to use this to blame video games, when that's just a standin for killing time.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot I don't think a Tiktok thot understands how difficult working with special needs kids is. Especially IF she's affected herself.
-
@WashedOutGundamPilot "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?"
-
@DW2 What Peter Thiel revelations?
-
@Terry If I'm remembering the current troubles correctly, the leftists are pissed off that the "right wing" judicial reforms might go through. There's a lot of evidence the recent protests are being funded by the usual international leftists.
-
@Terry In Israel, maybe. But there's an element of the international left that just spergs out continually. Sometimes globalism eats its own in its push to eat the whole world.
-
@RustyCrab @deprecated_ii But "she" learned C++ in a day! ONE DAY! How could anyone pass up such an amazing Senior Software Engineer? The only thing holding "her" back is a dopey pointy haired Manager, who totally misinterpreted "her" chosen career path and gave out inconvenient assignments.
At 70% of a male engineer's pay, "she" is a real steal, especially now that "she" decided coding is just too lame for "her" awesome software skills now.
