@PunishedD @c Someone pointed that out. 30 years hence it was "8 hrs of tv per day" as the norm. THis is just gender specific, the female version is browsing SM while watching goyFlix.
Oddly when I looked up the reddit thread there were two somewhat useful comments about how they were the only accessible, affordable, achievable way for young men to indulge in competition and pursue excellence in an appropriate way

@c @Argyrus There's a quirk here, the "love videogames" thing is really "filling leisure time with whatever's cheap and engaging". If this happened 25 years ago the headline would say "men who love watching TV", or "men who love hanging out on the porch drinking cheap beer".
Some moron is going to use this to blame video games, when that's just a standin for killing time.

@Argyrus @c Not only that, video games have expanded to just about every niche a guy might enjoy. It's not just arcade shooters or platformers any more, any kind of strategy or puzzle genre is available and cheap.
It even replaced RL nerd niches like gambling, card games, tabletop gaming, fantasy football, etc.

@PunishedD @Argyrus @c >fantasy football
Only jocks do that now lmao
