I can type and autocomplete filenames faster than I can navigate through a directory tree in a gui. It does all the things.

@nixCraft vscode is pretty good and you can use vim key bindings.

vim is better if you want to have the same abilities in a terminal as well.

There's very little need for that if you have time to set things up properly ahead of time.
