@kevinrns yes, it is paid version of GMAIL and it is called Google workspace (G suite old name). They are forcing everyone $2 per user. So if you have 1000 users, it will be 1000x2=2000 extra per month.
Google has everyone paying $2/month more for AI features they’re forcing on everybody like Microsoft, and here is how to opt out of that garbage. This feature is turned on for everyone by default except for a) The European Economic Area b) Japan c) Switzerland d) The United Kingdom
It is official now. TikTok faces ban in US by Sunday after Supreme Court rejects appeal https://www.bbc.com/news/live/czj37xe7jljt Under the terms of the law, service provides like Apple and Google will be penalized for supporting TikTok after the law's deadline. In other words, app will gone from the Play or App store and automatically deleted from users phone? It is not clear but Apple and Google have full control over your device for sure to remove TikTok App.
Popular newspapers now use LLM to write many articles and use AI-created images. They have the audacity to ask for a monthly subscription from visitors. Why don’t you ask AI to subscribe or ask Sama, the billionaire, to pay for it? I am not paying for stolen content from all over the web, and your boss is firing newspaper staff to replace it with LLM. Keep your news to yourself. Why do you need another human and their money to pay for it? These people are so delusional
How long before OpenAI, Microsoft, and other big techs start hiding microphones in public spaces to collect more AI training data? They are going batshit crazy these days.
1. Don't code when you're tired. 2. Don't login as root on your Linux/Unix boxes when you're tired, guys. 3. See # 1 again. 4. With time you will forget these rules again.
@FrankauLux It's still better than nothing, right? Even if we say that only 1-5% of those kids stuck with their plan and learned something new, that would be a win in my book. It's definitely better than spending an hour each day doomscrolling TikTok or YouTube shorts or Insta reels.
The only good thing that is coming out of the TikTok ban is that kids are downloading another app whose UI is in the Chinese language, and now they are learning Chinese. No wonder Duolingo sees a 216% spike in US users learning Chinese amid the TikTok ban and move to RedNote (Xiaohongshu). They are doing it out of spite, I know, but numerous studies indicate that learning a new language can significantly help improve cognitive abilities, including memory, problem-solving skills, multitasking
@bazkie Are you running rsync in a daemon mode for the public? The risk is highest for you. Either way, having installed rsync opens up attacks from both external and internal users; hence, updating both the client and server is recommended. Even a bug in the PHP script on your web server can run rsync, and from there, it can escalate. Nasty stuff.
