Me: Ah, my friend, whenever existential dread starts creeping in, I remember... somewhere out there, in the giant maze of Microsoft, there's a poor soul whose sole purpose is to ensure Microsoft Edge functions flawlessly on Linux. Suddenly, my problems seem far less difficult to solve. It's all about perspective, you see. 😉

@nixCraft - Microsoft corp culture has, from the beginning, been that anything Microsoft supports runs worse (if it runs at all) on anything other than DOS/Windows. It is part of the "self-stoking cycle" that Gates wrote about. The shitty behavior of apps on non-Windows promoted the use of Windows and the use of Windows promoted the use of apps that only ran on Windows.
Microsoft may have gone beyond this thinking but my experience is that code is much easier to change than corporate culture.
