     @nixCraft If we're counting Scratch and other introductory stuff for kids, probably about 10 or 11? Otherwise, I would consider myself to have started "real" coding around 14.

     I got my first computer for Christmas around 1984, so I'd have been six or seven by the time I could write a simple program on my own.

     @nixCraft After playing video games (on tapes) for about one year, I started writing small programs at 8, Logo and BASIC on an Amstrad 464. I instantly loved it and still enjoy coding.

     @nixCraft Must have been in primary school. I remember getting a book from my school's Scholastic Book sale that had basic code included in the text. You had to run the code to see how it fit into the story. This would have been in the early to mid-80s.

     @nixCraft around 9. There were some classes at my school and there I learned some C++ using an arduino. Dunno if arduino code counts as a program but the the first program program was written in kotlin at around 13

     @nixCraft I think 6 or 7. Funny thing is I actually hated it at the time. Fast forward like 14 years, and I'm a backend developer full time, and couldn't be more excited working on my own projects.
