@BowsacNoodle It also doesn't take into account that some guys are just stockier, and if they're the BMI "ideal" weight people look pretty concerned about them. It's funny because my "ideal" weight as per BMI is 170, when I was 170lbs my doctor was concerned for my health.

My theory that as inflation and the economy becomes increasing more fucked, being slightly chubby but not malnourished or unhealthy means that you don't have food insecurity and by extension, have at least somewhat stable resources. This goes for both men and women. Men liking thin to really thin women is historically recent (no, I don't mean landwhales or really fat chicks, I mean slightly chubby)

@BowsacNoodle Luckily my mom never got rid of some things, we have 4 freezers and 3 fridges, I was taught from an early age that if the power goes out, don't open the fridges/freezers, cover it in something that traps the cold in as much as possible. If it's a blizzard, make sure things like exhaust vents aren't covered,.
We have probably enough pizza sauce and dough to last us several months. My boyfriend keeps a stockpile of basic medication and first aid supplies and I have a shit ton of teas, including a shit ton of herbal teas.

@BowsacNoodle A few tips from a boy who grew up in the deep country but later moved to the suburbs:
- learn canning/preserving/pickling, even if you’re married and stuff, seriously just fucking learn it
- raw honey has a near infinite shelf life, we have a big jar we bought almost 20 years ago *If you have the space, start a small garden, check with your local DNR or whatever to find what’s local and what grows best in your region and according to your soil and space
- Learn to make cheese from spoiled milk rather than just throwing it out, not only is it easier than you think it is, it’s delicious
- Make friends with beekeepers, chicken owners, dairy farmers, etc.
- If your community has it, please look into community supported agriculture.
- Stockpile things slowly
If my calculations are correct, food insecurity is going to spike. I’m not trying to sound like a “the end is nigh” crackpot, but the supply chain is going to change and probably not for the better. @DEERBLOOD @MuscleOrc1221 @shedinja
