Maybe if they knew the shit regulators allow in because they work for the industry they regulate they might be willing to spend more on quality local food.
Food is a small potion of a household budget anyhow so it wouldn't hurt most people to spend it more wisely. It does take more effort though. I'm hoping networking tools will make it easier to make healthier decisions and connect farmers with consumers. -

Bulky things in pockets break up the figure most and women don't want that so they carry purses instead.
Unfortunately that leaves practical and sensible women such as yourself trying to squeeze things into a token pocket sewn on for appearances. -
:spinnenrad: Festivegoat :spinnenrad: (eiregoat@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Tuesday, 21-Mar-2023 22:43:15 JST :spinnenrad: Festivegoat :spinnenrad: The problem isn't just the "lefties gravitate to media" issue, it's also the "lefties are overwhelmingly drawn to publicly funded institutions" issue.
The first one I don't see as big of a deal because it's already changing, anti-left types are becoming increasingly involved in media production and I see a bright future for films and games full of all kinds of wrongthink.
The second problem is systemic and cannot be avoided, it's built into the structure of such institutions that their anti-competitive "safe" status and committee driven decisionmaking process will attract the worst people. The only answer is to have as few such institutions as possible and to make them as vulnerable to community backlash as possible.
As to what to do about it? Concentrate our numbers, build parallel economies and make big public institutions and big public funding mechanisms matter as little as possible. -

My only fancy tip would be buying and staking BAND, but don't put your savings on it. -
:spinnenrad: Festivegoat :spinnenrad: (eiregoat@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Monday, 20-Mar-2023 07:24:05 JST :spinnenrad: Festivegoat :spinnenrad: I use both, but honestly the "intuitive" thing is pretty much the same for either.
For example, my pinky is a centimeter across, whereas my thumb is an inch. My waist is a meter off the ground whereas a yard is the length of my belt. A kilometer is the distance from my house to the train station etc.
No matter what units people use there'll always be some relatable measurement they'll relate them to. -

The imperial system is more intuitive but sometimes measuring things with the sovereign's foot or a barleycorn just isn't accurate enough. -

If I were asked to plan an op like that I'd send a journalist. Have him "publish" some extremely anti-western pieces before he goes and publicly say nice things about the taliban. Then ask the locals to introduce him around so he can write more pieces.
I'd probably pick someone in their 40s or 50s. Young enough to get around but old enough not to look like a threat and not to do anything particularly stupid.
I wouldn't pick a teenager purely because they're not particularly reliable or independent. -

:spinnenrad: Festivegoat :spinnenrad: (eiregoat@nicecrew.digital)'s status on Saturday, 18-Mar-2023 21:17:13 JST :spinnenrad: Festivegoat :spinnenrad: - I gather bitcoin aren't trying to be cash anymore. They want to be more like the merchant bankers of crypto: Highly secure system for dealing with huge transactions. Given that their system isn't good at cross chaining though I'm not sure how long that will last, then again I thought they'd die years ago and they didn't, so who knows.
- Cardano is faster and cheaper than bitcoin, but then almost all blockchains are. Tron is a bit faster and cheaper again, around 5 secs for a transaction and costs 5 cents. I've been experimenting with a few other chains and there's even better ones than that, although it's not clear if they'll maintain their speed/cost if they have to scale. BAND in particular has been holding up remarkably well at much less than a cent per transaction and a few seconds processing time.
> Plus I need to trust humans vs smart contracts. ADA is simply better. Maxis are wrong.
Can you elaborate on that? What humans are you trusting? Do you mean cross chain transactions? -

It was heavily patriarchal and emphasised stability, honour and rewarding hard work. Hence why the (((communists))) fucking hated it.
Elements of it still carry over to today though. -
