@ChristiJunior The richness of the fandom surpasses what anyone could do on their own. It gives it a life that couldn’t be bought. Imo the tourney was partly defined by an enviousness on the part of other factions, because a character like Remilia doesn’t just have her own game she has her own EDM, rock, and metal music, let alone memes and art to share.
The tourney being about the girls and not the games is all a part of the tournament and that’s the strength of Touhou. Even if the games aren’t the best mechanically, it isn’t a tourney of which game is the best or most fun to play. It’s about the girls, and every one brought something to the tourney.
If anything, the girls had a disadvantage due to being old and their games less known with the younger generation, and not being as much a western phenomenon when they came out. Many people have played EoSD, not many played when it came out.
It’s a bastion of internet culture and defined the era of explosive growth the internet itself saw in the early 2000’s. For that reason it’s bedrock even though it’s slightly obscure in the West.
-
@ChristiJunior The games are religious, that’s their main feature, and that’s what makes them so attractive in addition to the music, art, dialogue, gameplay, etc. Its a game about Japanese religion and there’s no analog in the West. There’s no explicitly religious Western game that’s as deep and by itself soulful.

@Terry what happened?
-
@internetfreak @Terry This is exactly how people end up simping for the GOP.
-
@internetfreak @Terry My point is don’t simp for the NJP just because “there’s no alternative.” THAT’S exactly how people end up simping for the GOP. You have to do your own thing.
Even if you want to believe in the NJP as an organization, you have to hold your leaders feet to the fire and demand accountability, and there have to be consequences if they come up short.
You should be demanding information on the whole situation, not waiting for it to drip out in a series of Daily Rake articles.

@Some_German_Guy @Shadowman311 @deprecated_ii assuming this is true, I’ve heard that only some countries allow armed guards, so for legal reasons, it’s complicated to have them for international shipping. In theory the US is supposed to handle all of this anyway, so the question is, “where are they?”

@blaaablaaaa @ArdainianRight @1nter4ri @BigDuck @D-Droid @WashedOutGundamPilot @Hoss 9/11 and a lot of Jewish tricks play off of the high trust society they’ve destroyed so no. They’re simply out.
Nuke has a significant actual damage:arousal ratio whereas 9/11 was flash and little actually happened. Even when the pentagon was hit no one important died. A nuke in a place that wouldn’t arouse suspicion would kill jews, terrify the population to the point of unrest, demolish the integrity of the United States, discredit her, economically ruin her, etc, and might not even arouse people to war. Just make them paranoid.
Idk why people don’t think this through when they say a nuke is coming. What’s their thought process? 9/11 worked because Americans are fundamentally good people and they felt innocence had been attacked and had to be met with retribution. What would happen now, let alone at several orders of magnitude higher?
-
@blaaablaaaa @1nter4ri @ArdainianRight @BigDuck @D-Droid @Hoss @WashedOutGundamPilot Also the obvious factor that a nuclear attack would authorize a nuclear strike so if “Iran did it” we wouldn’t invade Iran just nuke Tehran and this wouldn’t destroy the militias or most of the military, but it would unleash total war and they have enoug missiles to level Tel Aviv without nukes. It’s not a big country.

@IAMAL_PHARIUS @Morghur
-
@mischievoustomato I’ll just say, there’s a lot more engagement and better artists.
The stuff they’re talking about though is lower quality.
-
@mischievoustomato there also isn’t the “digital village” feel fedi has. Like there’s no Twitter Jeff Cliff. He’s one of a kind.
-
@Terry @Vril_Oreilly “I’m politicking honey.”
-
@Terry @Vril_Oreilly He’s on disability. Rough state. I guess he has to find something to do.
I tuned in and he was defending keeping the budget closed. My problem with these guys is they say with their mouths they want to save the White race, but they act like they just want a podcast.
Like, the NJP took home six to seven figures a year. That’s substantial. At the helm of that ship was “aloof” chairman Moike who was “more interested in the podcast” and “just wanted to grill on the beach.” Like they sent out the batsignal then Batman came and they were like, “ah man, I just want to be funny internet man.”
Then they get flak for that and it’s “uh we can’t show the budget our enemies are going to destroy the White race if we do that.” Like no one is going full steam at these guys, because we all, actually, want to see them succeed. Because we all want a relevant White party, and these guys at least seemed to make an honest attempt.
Maybe the conversation needs to move to “What CAN we do?” Because the NJP revealed that, actually, we have a lot of willing people and a lot of resources.

@coolboymew Is this because Donkey Kong is black?
-
@SuperLutheran @SirAttlich @mkultra absurdity on the level of no one can drive a car because they might hit a deer and your kid will see it by the side of the road.
-
@SuperLutheran @SirAttlich @mkultra It’s simply not child abuse and it’s like you’re trying to make the worst possible argument for something you believe in to see what you can get away with.
I admire the chutzpah but this will never be the legal standard because it leads to abuse.
-
@SuperLutheran @SirAttlich @mkultra Absolutely nothing you’ve said or posted says starring in porn is the legal standard of sexual abuse. This is an absurd shell game and you’re simply trying to move away from your original statement as hard as you can because it’s indefensible. Arguing in this bad faith with your own side is absurd.
-
@Owl @Terry @Codeki @Remi they might shed NJP but the big point, pro or anti, is that the networks on the ground aren’t going anywhere.
What they’re going to accomplish, we’ll see.
-
@Terry I don’t believe Striker and Borzoi leaving is coincidental. I think there’s something that spurred these exits besides “Tonyman bad.”
