@charliebrownau The age of the earth has no bearing on my salvation so I don't care how old or young it is. Considering it's been 2000+ years since Christ's earthly ministry I'd say the earth is much older than that.

We need God, His Law and His Gospel for our society to have a moral foundation. But having the foundation is only one part, people still need to build on it which we've failed to do for quite a while. Hence why we've fallen so far.

What I believe is summed up in the Apostle's Creed. As for which Bible I read I favour the ESV. It's not without its own problems but I prefer it.

I've been considering getting a capture card thing for one of the cameras at church. I'm not happy with the quality of picture we're getting with ethernet/NDI and want to set something up which will work easily after I'm gone.

Stumbled across some grave news for our American Lutheran Brothers and Sisters. I won’t go into any detail as I don’t want to draw attention to it. But one of /ourguys/ was doxed and an actual ordained Lutheran Pastor appears to be applauding it.
There are two lessons here:
The first is to remember that even at church you cannot relax. Be aware of your surroundings and whether the church is filming/streaming the congregation.
The second is rather poignant as I preached on it today. When the world and the devil attack you know that you’re on the right path. Faith in Christ may not win you many friends but it will win you eternal life. Remember that blessed are you when you are persecuted for righteousness’ sake.
Be aware of who can be trusted in your congregation and support them. Do not be afraid to speak up but also do not be reckless.
“Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” (Matthew 10:16)

Our friend here is correct, the QLD proposal "one church, two practices" will not work in practice. The point of the proposal is allow to pro-WO side to regroup and spend another 12 months campaigning. It already assumes that the LCA will allow WO and the pro-WO will not stop until they get what they want. Be it through the front door or under the cover of darkness through the back.

Better to, as @SuperLutheran says, schism now and avoid the rush.

To all Lutheran Poasters and in fact all Christian Poasters. The Clergy is unable to police itself so it falls to the Laity to do so. Keep an eye on your church and on your Pastor. If your Pastor is a faithful witness you MUST support them or else you will lose them.

LCA synod update:

The QLD proposal to kick the can down the road for 12 months has passed. The general church board and college of bishops will be working out how 'one church, two practices' will work.

No word yet on other proposals including the one allowing for congregations to peacefully leave the LCA over the women question.

As for why the hospital, well we don't have any other options here in Australia (to my knowledge). So that's where people go for emergency care.

Thank you all for your prayers. He only had to stay in hospital overnight before being sent home. Was doing a lot better than he was and could move under his own power.

Had to go back to hospital today though because they wanted to do more blood work. Apparently having him for a whole day and a night wasn't enough time for our wonderful medical system to get it's shit sorted.

Thank you again for your prayers, truly I am blessed to have Brothers and Sisters like you.

Putting my details in (student, working part-time, no assets beyond a car) here's how much each fortnight I might qualify for:

Me as a White man: $721.40
Me as an Aboriginal: $828.80

So just being an Aboriginal I would qualify for an extra ~$100 a fortnight.

Now this is only looking at the government's study assistance. This doesn't account for any Abo specific scholarships and other assistance I would qualify for as an Abo.

@TheEternalBungholio @randbot @TinyFern can give you a pretty solid response, she's had a thread or two about abos in the past. @Fenian might have something to share as well given the current situation in Alice Springs.

My response would just be to assert that Abos need a firm hand to protect them from themselves. Otherwise they will continue to rape their own children, destroy the homes given to them by the government and just drink and smoke their lives away.

In terms of welfare Abos have access to a vast amount of Abo specific programs. Programs which the average White Australian doesn't get. This includes housing, money, study assistance/scholarships and so on. They do pretty well, in my opinion, but the full-blooded Abos don't want to work or study. Which is why you generally only see half or quarter bloods doing the activism.

Lastly, what rights do White Australians have which Abos don't also have? This native title crap and the like is just rent-seeking. They did not own Australia before settlement. Nor were there any nations before the White man came.

You should ask this apologist how much money they're giving to paytherent.net.au/ and if they're not paying tell them to stop being an abuser.
