@noellabo >license >CC0 (copyright disclaimer into the public domain, so no license, although there is a fallback license if copyright can't be disclaimed).
If you don't care about ensuring your free software remains free, please use an acceptably written free license that at least prevents patent treachery like Apache 2.0.
Unfortunately that would still shirk your duty for humanity to license under AGPLv3-or-later.
@snacks@lucy Insane weapon laws don't do anything against those with a will, the skill and a hardware store (or a scrapyard, or even just a dumped car), even in Japan.
The main thing that actually prevents improvised firearms is that incompetent manufacture or packing too much powder tends to result in an explosion that injures or kills the operator.
In this case, with the context of audio playback, either vinyl or record will do, as anyone who knows anything about legacy audio actually knows what a vinyl record is, very much unlike the many people who don't know that Linux is only a kernel and that GNU exists.
@parker@splitshockvirus >The pound long predates the kg There were many completely different measurements called the pound in the past, making it almost useless for anything that required any sort of accuracy.
It was only when the "pound" was defined as kg with extra steps it became reproducible.
>but imperial is often way more intuitive. You are using US customary units (metric with extra steps) - British Imperial units are even more braindead.
>imperial is often way more intuitive. Totally false.
>I can hold a pound of beef in my hand What kind of weak hand do you have that you can't carry a kg of beef in your hand and can only carry <454 grams?
>a foot is the length of my foot I really doubt your foot is 30.48cm long - it's a little less or a little more - thus any calculations using your foot end up wrong.
>I take a long-ish step that's a yard What kind of short legs do you have that you can't walk a metre and instead you can only walk 914.4mm?
>an inch is the distance between my thumb and forefinger when I hold them parallel I really doubt you can accurately position your fingers to 25.4mm accurately, while I can position my fingers to 20mm accurately.
>cut that in half - half an inch, cut in half again - quarter inch, it just werks. Statements dreamed up by the deranged.
You can trivially cut 20mm in half to get 10mm and again to get 5mm, or even add or subtract whatever number of mm to want to get 6mm or 15mm.
Being limited to 0.25in, 0.5in. 0.75in, 1in is quite sad and results in poor accuracy.
>Really, using base 2 is way better than base 10. It's amazing how hard Ameriafats psyop themselves.
>1 gallon = 4 quarts = 8 pints = 16 cups = 128 ounces is all base 2, way more harmonious. Imagine being limited to fixed quantities with nothing in between.
1 Litre == 1000mL and you can get the exact volume of liquid you need, whether that's 12mL, or 234mL or 500mL or 12 Litres or 1020mL.
