Just like banning drugs won't make drugs disappear, people do and will always do illegal things, including buying guns.
But regulations will make things happen less.
I'd take a shooting every other year and every day.
It's not like in Italy I can't have guns, period. I could, I'd have to pass some checks first.
I work in security, a colleague of mine had to wait particularly long for his carry permit because his mom tried to kill someone some 20 years ago.
