The word "lazy" is literally in the name. You know what you sign up for when you watch one of his video. Yet it is somehow still better produced than 90% of the rest of the slop about the same topic. -

The pages and pages of dense philosophical essays and poorly organized FAQs do not provide a useful entry point or reference for the community.I agree, as much as I truly love the classic essays and FAQs these things can be done in a much more modern way. I think especially on the audiovisual front the FSF is quite lacking in that regard. Shortform video rains supreme nowadays.
I like that they've made attempts with the "Fight for Repair" and "Rewind" animated videos, but honestly I find them rather cringe by making them action oriented.
I think the very professional looking videos produced by the FSFE, such as "Public Money, Public Code" and "What is Free Software?" are much better promotion material. Both the FSF and FSFE should make more videos like these. -

Like the owners of the gameplace and mall security guards and many other people that bullied Chris before his internet fame.

I'm not using Mastodon because I think Mastodon uses a lot of unnecessary server resources and lacks a lot features that these alternatives have. -

"nnooo dont hecking share this artist's on here, it is a patreon exclusive!!!"
"this are stickers of my fursona that I commissioned, you can't just use them without my hecking permission!!!"
etc. -

SuperDicq (superdicq@minidisc.tokyo)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Feb-2023 13:19:55 JST SuperDicq @clacke@libranet.de @Moon@shitposter.club Yeah it really does. Places like /pol/ and 8ch have really ruined the public image of imageboards towards the general public and also made it so people who go on imageboards for non-political discourse have become a dying breed.
I don't think anyone who wasn't already there pre 2010 or so is going to understand imageboards by getting into them now. You're simply too late and the party is over I think.
Yet somehow everyone is still familiar with things that early image culture gave birth to such as the act of rickrolling, epic fails, the game (you just lost), over 9000, the concept or trolling and many many other things originating from there. -
SuperDicq (superdicq@minidisc.tokyo)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Feb-2023 12:07:39 JST SuperDicq @clacke@libranet.de @Moon@shitposter.club I consider myself a "channer" as I I've browsed imageboards for as long as I can remember.
I do like posting about anime girls but I'm not a racist or edgelord. I did probably post a lot of edgy stuff as a teenager, but even back then I mostly still browsed boards related to hobbies and interests such as /a/, /jp/, /vg/, /o/, /g/, etc which I still occasionally visit today to check up on my favorite general threads. -

SuperDicq (superdicq@minidisc.tokyo)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Feb-2023 12:07:08 JST SuperDicq @Moon@shitposter.club @shibao@misskey.bubbletea.dev I can't say I disagree.
Actual child pornography being posted on /b/ and jannies taking too long to remove it was quite a big issue at the time unfortunately.
But for my own selfish reasons I think /pol/ is a lot worse because I see it as the cause of the destruction of the imageboard culture that I loved. -

From my experience they usually just leave when they realize I'm not getting offended and I'm just laughing at their stupidity.
Never really had to use moderation tools against them as they just left naturally after a while. -
SuperDicq (superdicq@minidisc.tokyo)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Feb-2023 10:48:04 JST SuperDicq @Moon@shitposter.club I do realize that imageboards were always edgy and the posts have always contained a lot racism, homophobia, etc.
This was never different, but it does that the way it was done and the reasons why have changed a lot over the years.
Nowadays it feels like a lot of the edgy posts are not just offensive and edgy but are actually intended to incite hate and things like that. They are often trying to push a certain agenda first and be funny second.
It's no longer just edgy humour "FOR THE LULZ". -
SuperDicq (superdicq@minidisc.tokyo)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Feb-2023 10:48:03 JST SuperDicq @Moon@shitposter.club You know what happened just before 8chan as well? Moot decided to launch /pol/.
Also remember "/n/ - News"? It was the precursor to /pol/ and Moot took it down in 2008 or so because it fucking sucked just like /pol/ does today. No idea why he decided to try the same thing again and expected different results. -
SuperDicq (superdicq@minidisc.tokyo)'s status on Wednesday, 22-Feb-2023 10:40:39 JST SuperDicq @Moon@shitposter.club As far leftists often associate imageboard culture with just /pol/ alone I think so yes.
Maybe not right wing specifically but definitely implying that someone enjoys edgy, racist, homophobic, etc. humour that they consider problematic.
