It is correct that any free software program with significant development work put into it keeps improving until it has no parallel and then it keeps getting better.
No proprietary compiler compares to GNU Compiler Collection, no proprietary shell compares to GNU bash, no proprietary COBOL implementation compares to GNU Cobol, no proprietary kernel compares to GNU Linux-libre, no proprietary OS compares to the rich functionality of the GNU Emacs OS and so on; https://www.gnu.org/software/
@rms Don't some hybrids use supercapacitors rather than a battery, thus rendering a charging plug in those mostly pointless?
That's rather pushing for all hybrids to be; "Plug-in hybrids".
I reckon a supercapacitor hybrid really would remove a lot of the inefficiencies of ICE's while also not having a battery to wear out.
Unfortunately, almost all modern electric or hybrid cars are ruinous for your freedom due to all the spyware and proprietary software that is remotely updated, or updated at the dealership.
@nyanide >Connecting to a publicly accessible server is apparently "hacking", even though it requires no playful cleverness, just scanning for minecraft server ports on the limited amount of IPv4 addresses until you find one.
@r000t GNU/JIHAD AGAINST "FOSS" AND ALL OTHER FORMS OF PROPRIETARY DEGENERACY.
There is free software available for GNU/Linux that supports automated installs and management on GNU/Linux and windows, although the name escapes me now.
I'm sure you could get it to support "Azure AD" if you hated humanity that much.
@r000t >Emailing the vendor again asking for a 1 day extension on the eval license because it expired over the holidays and *now* these guys want a demo vs >Don't run proprietary malware to implement things, instead use free software, thus things don't constantly stop working due to "expired license".
@dushman@thatbrickster@raccoon "open source" is about bootlicking corporates, who don't like to hear about the word of freedom and therefore such movement seeks to silence such discussions.
Also, for every single "open source" project, if adding proprietary software would give any technical benefit at all, such proprietary software is always added and never removed unless and until it becomes totally obsolete.
Hotplug SATA with included SATA power should have been made the standard interface for storage ago tbh.
The Thinkpad T500, R400, R500 and W500 implement it, but pretty much no other laptop does and it's rare for desktops other than for certain server motherboards?
Many normies should be scared off from using computers (it'll be better for them tbh), but of course the government and proprietary software companies can't let that happen.
