@Hank_Ikes Nothing happens, because every race is equal and therefore the top scholars already hold a diverse mix that doesn’t require non-merit-based help to be admitted. Affirmative action is just a boogeyman for conservatives, it doesn’t matter and it isn’t actually needed, chud.
@Hank_Ikes They’ll just bring it back under a euphemism, like how Yale or Harvard were denying Asian students for “personality issues” so they could keep their BIPOC numbers up.
@WashedOutGundamPilot@RustyCrab That confirms my suspicions, the entire thing hinges on that cloud service, unless you pay that $40/year to be able to email yourself (lol). I don’t know how you build a company centered around that but still fuck it up. I’ve used other minimalist services that just used Google Drive, for example. This Postbox seems to provide almost zero functionality, by design.
My rabbit hole has led me to DOS 6.22 and Wordperfect 5.1 downloads. Now I’m trying to figure out laptop compatibility with DOS, or maybe DosBox. My curiosity is immeasurable and my day is ruined.
Also I looked into their site a bit. They also flog a browser-based “distraction free writing environment” at https://sprinter.getfreewrite.com/ which really should be enough for people with that problem. It sucks, you can’t highlight text or insert the caret further back. They call it Sprinter because you’re supposed to just vomit out words always moving forward, I guess.
But if you want your $700 typewriter to send your drafts to an email, instead of their proprietary Postbox service, you have to pay an extra $40 a year for Freewrite Plus. Such a deal!
@WashedOutGundamPilot Is this basically a gadget for undisciplined midwits who can’t commit to “open Notepad and type” without tabbing over to Twitter?
Hell, throw DOS 6.1 and Wordperfect on an ancient laptop, you get better results.
@deprecated_ii Enforceable contracts are the foundation of capitalism. Make them less enforceable, you fuck up everything.
Contracts have never been “absolutely binding”, there’s always caveats and ways out that the law has recognized for thousands of years. But since you’re talking about student loans, I have a hard time seeing the post-signing justification for making them less binding. Nothing about the terms or the signing parties has changed.
If you want a debt jubilee for the sole purpose of screwing over the banks, that’s one thing, but I have yet to hear a reason why student loans themselves are bad other than “paying money is hard”.
@graf@LadyDragonfly It wasn’t even Nazis that did this one, it was sympathetic student groups. They sacked the Institute a few days earlier, and on the Nazi’s book burning night they went back and hauled out this trash for a cleansing fire.
The moral of this picture is, when you degrade and degenerate a society badly enough, you don’t even need Nazis. The regular people will snap back first.
@WashedOutGundamPilot@Wormwood I would agree, but practically I think I would need a pen and paper to survive. Even deep thinkers get restless, writing/recording provides a self-feedback loop and a sense of progress.
@Arkana@WashedOutGundamPilot I'd get it right after like 3 iterations before handing it in. Had to think through it, but instantly saw the flaws in the examples.
@Shadowman311@graf You must've missed it, Alex conducted a hostile takeover of poast last week. There was dramatic board room maneuvering, a speech from Michael Douglas, and a brutal knife fight. Jannies are still scrubbing the blood off the walls.
@DW2 To be fair, I think the original point was that normal (non-luxury) brands are being used to smuggle faggotry acceptance into the middle class. Minimal consumption is fine but some of this is basic foodstuffs.
@WashedOutGundamPilot "loyal wingman platforms"
They're telegraphing the inevitable mid-air hack and betrayal before it even gets approved. Some near-retirement colonel in the naming brainstorm session decided to write an ironic headline 15 years in the future.
@coolboymew@sjw It's really mask off when the alphabet gang explicitly says, "the only option we will permit is doubling down on your support for us, standing still is not enough".
@WashedOutGundamPilot b-b-but muh walkable cities! No one will buy into our gay New Urbanism if they get flattened every time they step on the sidewalk!
