     @SpaceElf Many people are wholly inattentive to the world past their foreheads, they sleepwalk through life without really considering the ‘how’ or ‘why’ of the things around them.

     Unless they have a curious nature, or a hands-on interest in maintaining something, they’ve probably never spared a thought to its operating fundamentals whatsoever

     @WashedOutGundamPilot @SpaceElf Trying to explain anything mechanical or anything with wires to my wife often ends up with me wanting to ask her would hear if she changed the smoke detector batteries this morning.
     She's a top-tier autist when it comes to literature, language, and language analysis, but FUUUUUUUUUUCK trying to get her to understand anything with gears, wires, or switches.
     ''The stroller tire is flat, so I am pushing down extra hard on the other side to take pressure off the flat tire. .... [some back and forth] ... I THOUGHT YOU WOULD LIKE MY GOOD IDEA!''
     
     She also tries to argue directions with me, still, for some reason, even though I regularly navigate across the country for us with no directions.
