Wormwood (wormwood@poa.st)'s status on Wednesday, 07-Jun-2023 11:59:08 JST Wormwood hilarious to me that this generation's biggest meme fear is liminal spaces (an empty room with no people) but in reality they have social anxiety and can't even order a pizza over the phone - Woggy's Zeonic Frolicks likes this.

I get a strong NPC whiff whenever people talk about how terrifying solitary is, or show the long maze of emptiness. Seems like torture to a retard because they get 100% of their stimulation from external sources… almost like they’re intellectually cold blooded. Whereas a smart guy is a mental mammal - he can go into hibernation for months and “really get some thinking done”

Someone told me that you just need to create a world in your mind and live in there for a while, you treat it like a saved game and just open it up for hours at a time. Works pretty well, but I didn’t get to try it out w/ full on multi-month, no-contact solitary

PunishedD (punishedd@poa.st)'s status on Wednesday, 07-Jun-2023 12:26:01 JST PunishedD @WashedOutGundamPilot @Wormwood I would agree, but practically I think I would need a pen and paper to survive. Even deep thinkers get restless, writing/recording provides a self-feedback loop and a sense of progress. -

I entertained myself by doing math problems like doing large square roots in my head (I'd verify my answers on break). There's always something to think about if you're not an NPC.
