@verita84 @graf @Curvin @billy_hughes Honestly the origins of Corn Syrup came from the Sugar industry, because Cuba used to be the primary foreign supplier of sugar and Domino Sugar was extremely pissed off about their assets being nationalized and continue to support the embargo as well as a quota on Sugar imports. High fructose Corn syrup was invented as an alternative in the 1970s because the price of cane sugar is twice what the global market price is.

Nobody knew what it meant since the only thing ever really discussed was gays and lesbians. There was a lot of girls who liked gays simply because of what they saw on TV and they used to say shit like "it's not fair I don't have a gay best friend", but it was stupid girls saying shit just in response to the television. I think the more median response was "people should just be nice to everyone".

@sparky @deprecated_ii It wasn't even really a debatable issue, the majority of the country opposed it and even a fair amount of democrats didn't like it but it was a wedge issue and they fell in line because of some other finklethink like "Mitt Romney is going to abolish social security and throw your grandmother off a cliff."
