I'm sick of saying this because it falls on deaf ears and the same fucking idiotic arguments keep being presented over and over
but what young people do not understand is that America being this obviously fucked up clown show is a *recent development*
young people think it's been like this for 50 years and that's proof that everybody older than them is just gutless and won't ever do anything about it
in reality it's been less than 10 years since the insanity really started picking up steam and the older people have been reacting to it largely by taking the rational course of *avoiding the oncoming train*
just because it's all you've known since you gained sentience in your mid teens doesn't mean it's all anyone else has known
just because you have nothing to lose doesn't mean everybody else has nothing to lose
- Weaf :jv::nv: likes this.
- Weaf :jv::nv: repeated this.

history class presents this compressed version of events where some government transgression seems to elicit an immediate response but that's almost never how it actually happens
I'd go so far as to say most of what people "learn" from history is actually wrong and leads to false expectations by presenting a false causality
it's obvious if you dig into it that the civil rights era was full of gay ops just running cover for what the rulers already wanted to do, but people *still* cite civil rights protests as a way of getting shit done

@DK_Dharmaraj @sparky @deprecated_ii The "binders full of women" gaffe was such a forced meme but they really did pull off the whole "Republican War on Women".
-
@sparky @deprecated_ii It wasn't even really a debatable issue, the majority of the country opposed it and even a fair amount of democrats didn't like it but it was a wedge issue and they fell in line because of some other finklethink like "Mitt Romney is going to abolish social security and throw your grandmother off a cliff."
-
@LouisConde @sparky @deprecated_ii Libtards hated Romney because "binders full of women," I hated Romney because Mormonism is a Satanic mind control cult, we were not the same
-
@deprecated_ii Yeah I think this is correct. Shit was obviously *not right* during Bush times and first Obama term and you could see the undercurrents swelling up (plain to anyone who tried to stake a position to the right of Barney Frank on r/politics circa 2010) but didn't get absolutely insane until dirty black summer 2014 and BLM 1.0
-
@deprecated_ii Fag marriage was a debateable issue in 2012. John McCain and Mitt Romney had celebrity endorsements. Niggers would get smoked by cops every day and in every major city and nobody cared. Jew York PD was stopping random swarthoids on the street and searching them for guns and drugs with no warrants.
-
@LouisConde @DK_Dharmaraj @sparky @deprecated_ii I actually remember shitlib women at the time saying that Obama had to win because Romney would take away their birth control
-
@DW2 @DK_Dharmaraj @sparky @deprecated_ii lol what was the name of that bitchy girlboss who was a student at Georgetown Law School and was insisting in front of Congress that if the law changed she wouldn't be able to afford birth control? Her 15 minutes of fame are long gone.
-
@LouisConde @DW2 @DK_Dharmaraj @sparky @deprecated_ii Sandra Fluke -- she almost got Rush cancelled
-
@DW2 @LouisConde @DK_Dharmaraj @deprecated_ii As with so many things in our politics, it was never going to happen but it should have
-
@Remi @sparky @LouisConde @deprecated_ii After oberfell vs hodges it immediately went from gay marriage and rights too LGBTQ insanity over night. Trannies werent even a thing prior to that outside tumblr
-
@Boomerman @Remi @sparky @deprecated_ii I remember one time in middle school browsing the internet and I came across the acronym "LGBT" and I had no idea what that meant, nor did any of my friends.
-
@LouisConde @Remi @sparky @deprecated_ii I remember when they first trotted out lgbq there was no T at the beginning. I always just called them fags. Something changed about women in 2012 though suddenly they really cared about gays.
-
@LouisConde @deprecated_ii Yeah fag marriage was resoundingly defeated in 2008 in California until the Jews found a judge to throw it out
-
@sparky @LouisConde @deprecated_ii It's only been legal nationwide for eight years. Eight!
It used to be an issue that was seriously discussed. Obama famously was against it during his first term, then said 'jk' in his second. Trump was questioned about it during his 2016 campaign. 2020? The words "gay marriage" were not uttered once by any candidate. It had been completely taken off the table as something acceptable to discuss.
Zoomers have no idea because they haven't even been politically aware for that long.
-
@LouisConde @Boomerman @Remi @sparky @deprecated_ii I remember the standard argument for gay rights being that the government “should stay out of our bedrooms.”
Flash forward 15-20 years and now child protective services will kidnap your six year old and castrate them after they’ve been brainwashed into going trans by pedophile teachers.
America delenda est

@Boomerman @Remi @sparky @deprecated_ii I saw LGBT in the 00s, but it was uncommon and relegated to odd corners of the internet prior to tumblr. Nobody knew what it meant since the only thing ever really discussed was gays and lesbians. There was a lot of girls who liked gays simply because of what they saw on TV and they used to say shit like "it's not fair I don't have a gay best friend", but it was stupid girls saying shit just in response to the television. I think the more median response was "people should just be nice to everyone".
-
@Boomerman @Remi @sparky @deprecated_ii Oh yeah, tranny shit wasn't really ever mentioned other than people grossing each other out about the Crying Game. There was no real distinction between cross-dressing and being a tranny, because the idea of a person changing their sex was just absurd.
-
@LouisConde @Remi @sparky @deprecated_ii In my school the T was mever brought up. The q was questioning and everyone saw it as bullshit. After 2015 it became a mandate of the state
-
@ghostsofmena @Boomerman @Remi @sparky @deprecated_ii Eh, the propaganda campaign began in the 90s with TV shows like Will & Grace, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and the terrible movie the Birdcage. It just took until the 2010s for enough people to be convinced faggots are what they saw on TV.
-
@Boomerman @LouisConde @Remi @sparky @deprecated_ii Tldr banker scum got spooked by OWS and put massive $$$ into propaganda
-
@DW2 @Boomerman @Remi @sparky @deprecated_ii "Muh consenting adults in the privacy of their own bedrooms" was the biggest killshot because Reaganite taking points have no counter to that and nobody wanted to make the case everyone knew but was impolite/bad optics or whatever you want to call it.
-
@LouisConde @Boomerman @Remi @sparky @deprecated_ii When you realize people like Paul Singer (who literally said he wanted to make the GOP more fag friendly) are pulling the purse strings of the “conservative” movement, it becomes obvious the battle was already lost before it began
-
@deprecated_ii history books are fiction inspired by a true story
