My own personal forecast is that one day paper and copper-nickel coins will be worthless as currency, but one will be able to negotiate a sale using XXX amount of silver dimes/quarters/half-dollars/dollars. If I'm wrong, I'm not really out anything unless the price of silver crashes.

I read recently that in one of the Sumerian steles there was an accounting of wheat and its value. Basically, it came down to a bushel of wheat was 1 oz of silver. Coincidentally, when I read it, the price of silver and the price of wheat came to the same ratio - 1 bushel to 1 oz.

I don't have the article anymore, though.

Well, she wasn't to be outdone, so she went out in the field and came back with a great big mouse, showed it to me, then started eating it in front of me as if to say, "It's about damned time you figured out how to hunt for yourself, now I can enjoy my meal!"

For years, hunters have been documenting how wolves will kill deer and elk just for shits and grins, but the wolfhuggers insist they will only kill what they need to eat. Meanwhile, elk, deer, and buffalo herds in the West are being destroyed.

@DMA @HeliRides3000 @judgedread Interesting. In the 80's, nobody really looked down on coke fiends the way they do now. Probably because cocaine was just getting started destroying society, and was also more expensive so was a "rich man's" drug. Most of the coke nails I ever saw were little fingers on fags. Some just used finger picks like some guitar players use.

A close family friend had a bad accident and needed a lot of blood. I asked if I donated in his name if it would help offset his medical expenses. Nope, but I could still donate in his name. What's the point of that?

When I learned that they cannot harvest viable organs from a dead person, but only one who is still alive I looked into it further and learned about how someone declared "brain dead" is given a paralytic to keep them from moving as they are carved up while being kept alive because nurses were getting freaked out assisting in organ donations. The body responds to being cut up while still able to breathe. After doing a deep dive in what is involved in organ harvesting, the chances of me or one of my loved ones ever being a donor is zero, zilch, and nil.

Tell me, what could be more evil than murdering life in the womb for the sake of convenience? Yet, those who stand up against it are labeled as kooks by even their fellow "Christians".

@judgedread When Eric Rudolph was allowed to just twist in the wind instead of getting massive support from other Christians as a big black pill as to the state of the hypocrisy that calls itself the Church, today.

There are quite a few other folks who have been sentenced to 10-11 yrs for merely standing in front of an abortion clinic, but you don't hear about them and you dang sure don't hear any church talking about them. A true church leader would have their entire congregation surround one of those clinics and disassemble it brick by brick. But, we don't have church leaders anymore. We have charlatans who placate the masses with honeyed words that make them feel good on Sundays.

@judgedread And you get to the crux of the matter. That there is so much doubt sown into the Christians today that they do not truly believe in God enough to lay their lives down as possible martyrs. They have a spirit of fear. Fear of being caged for "breaking the rules". Fear of having something derogatory placed on their permanent record. Fear of dying. A fearful people can be easily controlled. The enemy's work is complete.

One of the most frequently repeated commands in the Bible is "Fear not!" Yet, most "believers" do not believe even that.

The Spanish descendants look down upon the Mexicans, and the Mexicans hate the Spanish. I've seen some pretty hot exchanges out in the yard between them when they thought I wasn't looking.
