I drove one with a blown sb (two dead cylinders) for years. You don’t want to crash one either. A modern 4.3 or sbc, yes they used them recently, will be everything you want, and even a bottom tier 4.8 ls is overkill.🥂

They will also be an easier swap considering low end torque will reck a 10bolt/trans case. Yes an ls is always available but you’re just going to break shit. I don’t even like that motor, but rebuilts are 1200 lol.
