collatz (collatz@poa.st)'s status on Monday, 28-Aug-2023 22:17:21 JST collatz Sunday's harvest. Finally got that first Mickylee, and for a mini-watermelon it's pretty big. A few smaller Krims, a single mid-size Brandywine, and some fairly big Mortgage Lifters, as well as the continuing stream of Sugar Rush cherries. -
collatz (collatz@poa.st)'s status on Monday, 21-Aug-2023 21:02:27 JST collatz Sugarbaby watermelon plants staying extremely compact, but really not producing fruit any more densely than the much more expansive Mickylees. Overall, Mickylee way ahead at maybe 5 fruit, w/ 3 nearing ripeness off 2 plants, and afaict only 2 fruit w/ 1 well-on for the Sugarbaby. Maybe still worth growing if you just start more plants depending on what we see in flavor. -

Have taken maybe half a dozen test ears. The couple that were really filled-out genuinely were some of the sweetest corn I've ever had w/o some kind of unnatural syrupy quality. They were however about as inconsistently finished as the stalks were to put out tassles - as you can see here, a fair number still had some filling out to do despite the completely browned-off silks. -

collatz (collatz@poa.st)'s status on Sunday, 06-Aug-2023 02:51:18 JST collatz @IAMAL_PHARIUS I think for corn this is the earliest year I've had, but I took a bit of a risk putting it in the ground when I did and just got lucky. Think I'd normally be in line w/ you. -

Turns out there's way more than just the one. Makes me wish I set up for some zucchinis to use the greens with, but at least I can keep them for seed and the straight8 pickles. -

If she cut below the developed budding sites, idk maybe it just has to push out some new ones -
collatz (collatz@poa.st)'s status on Friday, 26-May-2023 22:41:19 JST collatz @thatguyoverthere @TinyHouse4Life I've been amazed by the resilience of grapes. I actually tried to give up on this one back when I thought we wouldn't have space for it. Just dumped it out of the pot & left it to dessicate before composting. Like a month or so later, found it sprouting where it'd shot roots down into the soil. decided from that point to let it put up a bunch of shoots & clone. This is the one that took. -

collatz (collatz@poa.st)'s status on Saturday, 06-May-2023 21:04:20 JST collatz Pulled the older sage plants to refresh them w/ seedlings started last season and the one before.
They'll be kind of wispy this season, but they're putting out a healthy number of blooms, and will let me rearrange some things out there. -
