Today, we have a definition that Luther and others wrote for the 1530 Augsberg Confession, which contains the collective words of German Lutherans expressing and defending their views before Charles V, who convened the Diet of Augsberg to resolve German religious differences in the face of the Ottomans encroaching from the East toward Vienna.
It's not a full definition of repentance in Lutheran theology, like with the London Baptist or Westminster Confessions, as the purpose of the Augsburg Confession was part-apologetic and part-diplomatic, but it does show development of complete and foundational thought within German Protestantism, as well as a conformity of thought with Reformed and Anglican theologians to the West of Germany
｢Article XII. Of Repentance
Of Repentance they teach that for those who have fallen after Baptism there is remission of sins whenever they are converted and that the Church ought to impart absolution to those thus returning to repentance. Now, repentance consists properly of these two parts:
One is contrition, that is, terrors smiting the conscience through the knowledge of sin; the other is faith, which is born of the Gospel, or of absolution, and believes that for Christ’s sake, sins are forgiven, comfort the conscience, and delivers it from terrors. Then good works are bound to follow, which are the fruits of repentance.
They condemn the Anabaptists, who deny that those once justified can lose the Holy Ghost. Also those who contend that some may attain to such perfection in this life that they cannot sin.
The Novatians also are condemned, who would not absolve such as had fallen after Baptism, though they returned to repentance.
They also are rejected who do not teach that remission of sins comes through faith but command us to merit grace through satisfactions of our own.｣

What I'm listening to today: "Mixtur Trautonium (exercise #6)", LudoWic
One last Trautonium piece, this one run through two (!) Space Echos and demonstrating one of the most interesting things to me about the device, that it's capable of Theremin-like trembles and slides but unlike Theremins can do hard edges and discrete jumps. Again, like an electronic violin.
Short and low and has a captivating, melancholy emotion, this just really grabs your heartstrings and yanks.

So to my surprise, it turns out that people did NOT want Samus retired for Season 2 of the #BestVidyaGirlContest (which will probably take place during Autumn), voting instead to keep the genocidal Aryan by 27 votes to 23. As such, Samus will return as the defending champion and #1 Seed. In fact, based on the first contest, I have already established the Top 8 Seeds:

#2: Touhou rep
#3: Tamamo-no-Mae
#4: Pyra
#5: 2B
#6: Touhou rep
#7: Ryza
#8: Touhou rep
The remaining 24 girls will qualify through nominations and qualifier polls.
Also, because Touhou girls performed so well in the tournament, and since Touhou will inevitably hit the 3-girl franchise cap that will be in place next season, I thought it fair that the Touhou girls who DO qualify (we’ll have a special Touhou selection process ahead of the regular nominations) be secured favorable seeding, because based on what we now know, they should all boast Top 8 strength.
I also did set up a possible Pyra VS 2B quarterfinal match on purpose, but I still think the seeding is fully justifiable :smug6:

Thank you @Mario Vavti My report was incomplete - and I found the bug in the logs. Superblock was enabled, disabling it stopped the error. Uh. That must have been me causing this, as i was using some code from superblock for a new addon (which was disabled before). My new addon works, superblock doesn't. I guess i am not built for such things, however trying this to get features i am missing, that's why the dev site.

@mint when I hit my fifth UPS I built my own for #6. At some point it makes sense to migrate off lead acid consumer gear, not only for capacity but so you don't have a billion of those units floating around.
Most UPSes have 7 or 14Ah of capacity. This sucker has 600. -

ROUND 1, MATCH 12 PRE-GAME ANALYSIS
6th Seed 2B (Nier: Automata) VS 27th Seed Yukiko Amagi (Persona 4)
Tomorrow we will finally see one of the tournament’s biggest favorites be unleashed on the competition. Even at #6, I suspect 2B might have been underseeded, because she has arguably been THE gaming sex symbol since 2017. Of course, being an iconic vidya girl didn’t help Tifa much, but unlike post-Remake Tifa, 2B’s design leans far too aggressively into pure man-pleasing fanservice to be considered Normalfag-friendly, or Safe Horny. And while her game is very popular in its own right, I’m sure tons of people who never played a Nier game are still very familiar with 2B, she's just that damn popular. Her game even got an anime adaptation recently!
2B also boasts the best Ass in all of gaming. At least, she has the most famous ass, and I can’t really see how you improve on it – perfectly shaped, incredibly juicy, and as big as it could possibly be while still fitting with 2B’s slim and athletic body type. Her overall design and outfit definitely emphasizes the robutt as well, with only a modest bust and cleavage, but her dress being very short, which ensures you get plenty of brief, but electrifying glimpses of her bare cheeks during regular gameplay.
…and then you learn about the self-destruct feature, and discover that you can play much of the game with 2B’s glorious ass in full view! Not to mention that the game has some pretty in-depth camera options - talk about giving the people exactly what they want!
Of course, 2B has more to offer than perfect android ass – her design has plenty of other things going for it (the blindfold stays ON during sexbot mode!), and as a character she’s badass and cool, capable of dispatching entire robot armies with elegance and grace, yet at the same time she’s a hurting and tragic character, and her relationship with 9S has some very sweet (and heartbreaking) moments. It’s not hard to understand how this girl got so popular.
And yeah, it also shouldn’t be too difficult to tell that 2B is one of my favorite girls in this tournament, and after Pyra and maybe Samus, she’s the one I’m rooting for the most. Of course, she might end up *facing* Pyra in round 3, which should be an absolutely amazing match to behold.
I have a lot less to say about Yukiko. I do plan to play Persona 4 eventually, which sadly actually hurts her right now, since it means I don’t want to look up too much info on her. I do know she’s one of the major Persona 4 girls, and that the Persona series as a whole has plenty of great Waifus. Hell, a number of them were nominated for this tournament, but only Yukiko qualified. Despite a pretty weak showing in the Qualifier poll, I think Yukiko’s core fanbase, Persona 4 Respect (I get the impression that 4 is way more highly regarded than 5 among my Fedi mutuals) and the overall strength of the Persona series could save her from getting blown out by 2B, but that’s probably the most she can hope for.
