   Terrible sight of houses on fire at the northern edge of Grindavik.

   From https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvcP4kVVOnk whose camera occasionally zooms and pans around in its field of view.

     Here is a new aerial image posted at https://www.ruv.is/english/2024-01-14-eruption-north-of-grindavik-401887, that clearly shows the new fissure and its lava flow heading south into the town of Grindavik.

     Perhaps the lava flow will cut across town and find its way to the sea and spare most of the houses in Grindavik? Even if so, will Grindavik be livable?

     This image from https://www.ruv.is/english/2024-01-14-an-eruption-has-begun-north-of-grindavik-401887 shows the lava flow from last night's fissure crossing the north-south Rt-43 road left-to-right (east-to-west). We can see construction equipment building up the defensive wall across the road to keep the lava flowing east to west along the wall which continues west of the road as seen in post #6 above.
