I have roughly 100+ video/article ideas from before Linux For Everyone went on hiatus. A "Myth Busting" series was one of them -- but I only made it through #2.
Which one should I do next?
(And yes, I know #10 is contentious but it needs to be addressed!)

@mdiluz INSTALLING it is easy. Dual-booting is definitely not.
Fortunately (or unfortunately), #1 was already produced in 2021. And yea, the dual-booting situation hasn't changed much, has it? I still make mistakes and I've set up dual-boot environments at least 50 times.

@Linux4Everyone would worry about the nuance of #1. I think as stated it's _technically_ a myth because installing Linux itself is a breeze, but honestly dual booting is such a high risk manoeuvre. In my eyes it's the biggest issue with Linux these days and almost an anti-trust suite against Microsoft waiting to happen if anyone had the actual money for it.

@daniel That's true. Especially with some of the older non-Intel wireless devices.

@Linux4Everyone Just saying... #8 is hard: Normally they are already included with the kernel so if they aren't, and therefore need to be installed, then its up to the vendor and whatever inconsistent systems they are using

@TeamLinux01 Fortunately and unfortunately, that particular myth hasn't aged quite as "well." :D
Steam Deck came out after I wrote this list. But I think there are still a bunch of misconceptions around gaming on Linux, and I'm happy to dive into that.

@Linux4Everyone I think it is a given that "#3: You can't game on Linux" should be addressed right away.

Also, if it could include why some distros are not a good idea for gaming on, due to them shipping very "old" software stacks and drivers.

@TeamLinux01 Indeed! (And on my wishlist is gathering up some benchmark data which proves that distros with newer kernels and graphics drivers are better for gaming)

@chillicampari VERY valid point about #5. Muscle memory is one hell of a powerful drug. That will have to be a very nuanced discussion.

@Linux4Everyone #4 and #5 are ones that I've heard a lot and while #4 is generally easy enough to show that many things have a Linux counterpart with software like browsers, mail clients and office suites, #5 is trickier even as a concept (choice of desktop environments/window managers) and many people get frustrated fighting with things like muscle memory from the interfaces they are already familiar with or just feeling "lost" in general.
