The idea of having to defend being into a forsaken thing like warhammer is absurd in and of itself.

Warhammer enthusiasts are zealots, each worships their chosen god (to include the one true god, the emperor) and I'm not really sure why anyone would lie about being the miniature painting level fanatic.

That doesn't even make sense, and I have no idea what's going on, but I have no love for blizzard employees right now so fuck this guy until such time as I learn he's maybe a decent guy.

If fragmentation is sin, then random reads/writes are to be avoided.

The challenge with this OS is that it forces a new paradigm for how things are used: imagine not the internet, but some other way in which computers connect and communicate, why they would need to, and how that would happen without the complex and somewhat pointless ideas of modern internet.

Protocols aren't golden hammers, but they try to be.

I think there should be a device, open sourced and cheap/easy to construct, maybe fully solderless, that is purpose made to run TempleOS.

Rest in peace Terry, but I think he would have wanted this to be a tool in everybody's kit, a ubiquitous and special purpose toy not much unlike car or gun hobbyists.

Like Doom, I'm sure TempleOS can run on just about anything, modern CPUs can practically hold the whole thing in L3 cache.

In plasma cutting we're talking about a single point of plasma cutting many small slits in one line before proceeding to the next row.

She was taught theory, not practical application nor the process of choosing production methods.

A reciprocating knife/punch can be automated with very little power and very high speed for very low cost.

I wish I had the money to burn so I could get those juicy—twenty-four… yeah, that's the largest right now—twenty-four terabyte SAS drives.

Ooh yeah, a couple dozen of those… and yeah, it's RAID 6 or ZFS with dual parity or you might as well run striped.

Hell, anything important I honestly just suggest putting into a single NVMe with incremental backups and the good ol' 3-2-1 tiered backup solution.

If you're looking at 10 TB drives, go for the helium drives.

It'll be quieter and you can get them cheap.

Oh yeah, they get loud.

Good vibration isolating mounts and heavy airflow are a must.

SAS drives can do double the throughput of anything SATA and you can get SAS RAID cards stupid cheap, but the boot times are ridiculous.

I moved my SAS drives to a second box because of that.

Fun fact: they just take all your devices and storage media back to their forensics lab and sift through it all at their leisure.
