@WashedOutGundamPilot @BitterPill Yeah I can see it dying in real time from the mechanics end. Too many lawsuit-happy scumbags. Too much wasted money on v-tail bonanzas which haven't had annuals in 20 years. Not enough incentive compared to corporate/govt.

I just wish we had more places which could use necessity as an excuse because those places will be a fun haven for decades. Alaska will never ever lose GA because they "need" it. Montana and Idaho (insofar as they scare the californians away) should never lose gun laws because they "need" it. We just need more excuses wrapped up in legalese to keep our playthings.

@WoodshopHandman I skimmed the thread and Im not even sure the actual point but if the question generally is "why isn't there rw art" here are some passing hypotheses:

1. Autism (the bad kind)

2. Art is as ill-defined as love and so it often jumps between intrinsic beauty (a sunrise) and hypothetical (deep plotline, make u think media) and rw'ers generally like/make former over latter. we don't talk about the former because there's nothing to be said.

3. There's definitely a control/power factor. It's like asking why there aren't any Islamic star-and-crescent insignias at the Vatican. If my game/movie/painting can't be publicly available then either it's super niche or I just don't make it. even completely apolitical stuff like fnaf got canned when the creator was ousted as a Trump supporter.

4. Cultural pressures are a big factor. Political leanings of an individual are heavily influenced by the politics of the parents and peers, so an artistically inclined rw'er is much more likely to be steered away from it (by parents and the industry) and towards labor and other activities. My own brother was an outcast with art and had to pursue other stuff because nobody's hiring. So the problem reinforces itself; no demand makes no supply makes no demand

I want to make beautiful things because there's implicit meaning in beauty. I go to the library and see the cute gorl with a dress and bangs and big rimmed circle glasses and my day improves even if I don't talk to her. She's art. I work out so that others can have a good day because of me. it's like self sculpture. Is that "right wing?" does "right wing" even have any meaning?

Is it "political?" nigga that's entirely up to the environment you place it in. Metal Gear Solid is the most surface level unpolitical geopolitical game ever made. Who cares. Culinary art can be political given enough screaming retards but I'd still eat it if it tasted good.

@PraxisOfEvil @qwerty Do you think Indians will be forced on us as the new golem and given legal protections? They seem to be more competent than the Africans and cause a lot fewer problems to the guys at the top, I'm surprised the political landscape isn't smothering anti-jeet sentiments in the cradle.

@WashedOutGundamPilot @EdBoatConnoisseur See that's the way to do it. Every possession I own can fit into two suitcases. And personal cars are a big W, I only got one this year because my parents would never retire if they had to pay for another car's insurance.

@EdBoatConnoisseur @WashedOutGundamPilot Depends on where they grew up I'd imagine. I'm a Denver boy, and I mostly hated it. Everyone around us had no/few kids, and because I'm from a big family we were always more poor than the other kids. So even early on I couldn't connect to these only children who took vacations to hawaii and disneyland.

@WashedOutGundamPilot You're probably right and my family just has some tisms, but my brother and I would tinker with old unreal engine games, hacking and "modding" by splicing things from one game into another. We only had a single hour of computer time, but boy did we make it last.

My problem throughout childhood was a lack of output. Garage with no tools, living in suburbia sprawl in a crime prone area of the city. We were forced to be cooped up, even if I wanted nothing more than to hike up the mountains. When (if) I get kids of my own, I won't make that same mistake.

@EdBoatConnoisseur @WashedOutGundamPilot I also think that environment really fucked with puberty. I knew other kids could sneak into their parents house with their gf, they'd brag about it. I wouldn't dare let anyone from school see my house because I was sharing bunks with siblings, and being poor meant that everyone hoarded what they owned. Total mess everywhere, I'm one of two kids total who shook those habits.
