@Zergling_man @fediversereport @gabek Another problem, who are these people anyway? Do we really need to centralise fedi development? It doesn't seem to work out well for other projects because some voices are raised above everyone else if the decisions don't go in the direction those voices want. It causes burnout for the voices that don't get heard, even if they have some good ideas.

When you think about it, self-identity laws allow criminals to hide their past under a new name, it is frowned upon to dead name even if they are criminals. It lets them carry on offending and puts people at risk who aren't aware of their past.
-
@grillchen Depends on their crime. If they have committed a crime that puts other people at risk or violated their boundaries then I don't think they deserve to hide that past. Re-socialised or not. They didn't respect someone else's boundaries first.

@galena @PhenomX6 B-b-but Fox News!
-
My tame edginess has gotten me in trouble in the past. Lmao.
-
@lina @mangeurdenuage Yeah, not even I know what it means these days. Considering it can't mean that the will of the people is heard given how many decisions are made that local people don't want.

When Americans have forgotten that they are supposed to be a Republic rather than a Democracy.
-
@coolboymew Phew. At least I got that one right too. Not sure about the rest.
-
@coolboymew I have noticed a button that pops up that lets you easily scroll to the top too. I think that might be recent? But I'm not sure.
-
@coolboymew Oh, has that also improved since the recent update? That'll be an interesting one to see.
-
@coolboymew Yeah, sometimes it has been a while and someone revives an older post to repost or fave it. Sometimes you don't see a post because all you see are mentions. Now I can see it for better context.
Definitely seems like improvements were made here. Makes me wonder what else has changed.

Whoever came up with and added expanding and collapsing notifications in pleroma, thank you!

@thatguyoverthere The main problem with the buildings in the image is not so much the corner building, it's what follows after that. Also, the only thing they have in common is the height... until you get to the very back I guess. They are really tightly packed too.
-
One of the things that I don't like about living in my country is the way that buildings are designed. So many of them are not in keeping with any standard of beauty or with what is in the local area already. So you just get this ugly mishmash of buildings that make no sense and often the quality is poor or allowed to deteriorate so it looks like a poor town or city. Like it is left in poverty. There is no incentive to maintain it and it probably costs a lot to do so. We aren't taught how to maintain it now either. Nor do we have a community to encourage supporting this.
-
This is basically what I mean by a horrible mishmash of buildings... what even is this? I have no idea where I'm supposed to be based on this even. It doesn't have local character, a character in keeping with the buildings on the same street let alone in the general area.

@newt @ResidentEvil @sknvlv @adiz Trouble is... even if Putin does kick the bucket, there is no telling what the guy after him will do. Might be worse.
-
@newt @ResidentEvil @sknvlv @adiz That's true for when. Hopefully the next guy won't be in charge of a broken country. Can't say we need another Germany. Not sure how he will want to prove himself either.

@newt @sknvlv @adiz
Going to tell you right now, being a part of NATO right now doesn't feel like it is voluntary. I don't see anyone as being better in this situation. You pick your poison.
-
@newt @sknvlv @adiz Watching my country practically worship Ukraine despite how corrupt it is... it's not exactly encouraging me to think that it does little to internal politics. Sometimes I feel like I'm in a foreign country.
We've also been tied together for longer. We import a lot of the culture, media and texts from America. Sometimes I think that it is only a matter of time when it comes to Eastern Europe and this, that we are a warning to them of what they can expect to come by following the western superpowers.
-
@newt @sknvlv @adiz I'm not sure that I would consider that voluntary. I would sooner they weren't tied to us in that way and we weren't tied to them. Also, I think we had a defensive deal with france, mostly because of the germans invading... but it also included the communists. Then at some point, the US wanted to get involved in Europe and took over with NATO. But we did have similar fears, and in some ways contributed to making the situation worse. I don't know how much I would count fear-based decisions as voluntary... especially when it changes over time.
