@grillchen Depends on their crime. If they have committed a crime that puts other people at risk or violated their boundaries then I don't think they deserve to hide that past. Re-socialised or not. They didn't respect someone else's boundaries first.

@sim imo this will create more crime. we treat them as criminals and they act as criminals. for certain crimes the boundaries should be very high sure. but there has imo be a time when someone gets fully resocialized

@sim in a working system ex-criminals are re-socialized successfully and deserve to hide their past. that said most countries have a high recidivism rate.

When you think about it, self-identity laws allow criminals to hide their past under a new name, it is frowned upon to dead name even if they are criminals. It lets them carry on offending and puts people at risk who aren't aware of their past.
