@orekix@thatguyoverthere Sounds accurate. It's the things that get exported over here I think. So a lot of corporations, particularly junk food. Less about guns although mass shootings maybe if you watch the news. From schools, it was more about the slave trade, segregation and the civil rights movements. Maybe the Great Depression. If you're into westerns, I guess that would be the image but I think of that as more in the past now. More often, it's going to be about superheroes or Disney princesses or animals as Disney has a strong hold, hollywood, Amazon and Netflix too.
@ChristiJunior@coolboymew Kind of. I know someone used twitter to ask for hacked material. Not sure if that is the case here, but it was an article about the same thing.
@coolboymew Someone got banned on twitter and came here after they wrote an article based on hacked material I think?

simWe don't need journalists causing drama on the fediverse either. I think the world would be a better place without them manipulating us, probably more peaceful too. We'd be less divided in our communities.
@rude@Moon I wonder if that has more to do with the fact that it is in our faces more thanks to being tuned into technology than we've ever been? There has been a lot of research into this stuff, lots of data collected about our habits online and presumably how we can be radicalised to think a certain way or to believe something is more popular or common than it is.
@augustus I'm probably a centrist too, but I do have to remind myself that there are still some normal trans people and even they are concerned with how things have gone. Especially when it comes to what is happening to minors. Taking puberty blockers makes it harder to transition with surgery for trans women. Also, the dating scene is not great for trans people and their safety because of the predators out there, some who will encourage them to transition but drop them if things go wrong with it. Or the general dating problems.
