It can become a pretty big problem the moment your collateral doesn't cover your projected loss.
Yeah as long as one gets liquidated the moment his position reaches that threshold everything is fine. But that's not what happened with GME. -

Yeah, there can be healthy communities. Not to mention that meeting friends is almost always done within a community.
Perhaps the problems with online relationships is that interactions with friends are being done in the exact same way as interactions with friend groups inc. are done. Whereas in the past participating in a community and spending time with your friends were of completely different type.
Normiecattle being extremely shallow in the first place makes this substitution even easier. -

You can't have groups without the members being social within them.
The very concepts we use to communicate are rooted in shared experiences and so are our thoughts.
And it does make a difference how these groups are structured, how the members communicate, etc just as much as who the members are. -

Communities, especially online ones, can turn parasocial or even fully controlled a lot easier than irl friend groups can.
Community celebs and preoccupation with drama starting to appear could be viewed as a sign that the place is turning from a community into a consoomer group. -

Yeah, that's one of the reasons that got me into hosting an instance in the first place.
But the instance is not up yet. I'm at the stage of setting up a local environments with some instances that talk to each other.
Pretty sure you can get more creative with the search starting from the users table, filtering for someone, then joining with objects, etc -

I'm looking a lot in azorius source lately. Hopefully I can fork it to be fully compatible with Pleroma. As in pleroma users to be able to follow, post new threads and comment in azorius groups. Leaving only moderation to necessarily happen on azorius. -

As long as they visit these places there is no way to get around it. There is no legitimate reason to visit 4/v/ or r/slop and yet people will still browser.
It's 90% about the shitposting and maybe 10% about the games.
Unless they find a better alternative for gaming related posting it'll keep happening. -

I think they want to be part of the happening. Corpos are paying good money to astroturf every single online gaming space in such a way that it you don't pay them every couple of months you will feel left out of the "community" itself. -

How elaborate were the dictionary attacks?
Tools for port scanning to detect vulnerable servers have gotten quite good this past decade. Don't remember how it's called but there is a tool that allows you to scan one port on every single ipv4 address in the world in 15 minutes or so, provided you had the bandwidth to do it that is.
It could be explained by normal ebb and flow of low level hacking tutorials. -
