I think you are correct about the cultural trend regarding how we approach and handle intimacy or flirtation, which I think is really taboo to see these days. Things like naked guys riding around on their bikes at a pride parade is considered normal and fine because it's not explicitly sexual, some wrinkly old naked gay guy on a bike has a very limited appeal, while cute girls wearing bikinis to promote a video game is crossing the line.

    What I'm reacting to more, probably, is that everything feels sanitized today. Any sort of normal sexuality of affection has to be hidden from public view, unless it's gay, restricted to porn websites which makes a mockery of it. Every character is supposed to be a role model, so they can't do anything wrong. Inserting a tranny character bothers me, but I also don't think come across as strictly inappropriate without context (If a mom walks by she wont think anything of it). The "sanitation" issue is a really crappy trend, because people don't really like it I think. People's favorite character from shows like My Hero Academia are guys who who want to kill everyone for fun, or the guy who practices eugenics and beats his wife until she became a schizo, not All Might and his wannabe janny sidekick.

    Something I realized is that as much as people claim shows today are "degenerate" I think a lot of shows and anime now are way less sexual and/or perverse.

    @Twoinchdestroya I'm not 100% sure, I was more wondering what other people thought. But at the same time, it feels true to me. When I got back and watch older anime or even western shows, they seem to have a lot more crude humor, such as the "carpet eaters" joke from a cartoon network show.

It seems rarer, and whenever I see anyone talking about something like it today, it's usually something like "Spongebob got eaten by Mrs. Puff, this is a reference to vore". It might be, but it goes over most peoples heads.

    @gol_d_berg @Twoinchdestroya Hmm, maybe? In Naruto, the "pervy sage" trains Naruto under the condition that he promises to transform into a naked female version of himself. It was obviously a joke (not for approval), done for laughs to show us how this otherwise incredible man can succumb to his own crippling and human vices. I think we all get what was going on here, it's not flying over kids heads. We don't really see characters like this today, whereas the "pervy old man who is also an expert you have to work with" was a pretty common character before.

    I don't think something like this could get made today, especially in a show targeted at pre-teens, and if they tried it would probably be forced to heavily imply that Naruto was actually trans.

I think a lot of it comes down to his inexperience. He probably would be better off if he didn't get as famous. He could have gained that leadership experience because, and this is what I meant by charismatic, he's good at interacting with people. He doesn't get flustered easily, which is most of what public speaking comes down to.

    @Griffith @WashedOutGundamPilot I don't have any personal issues with him, honestly. He is well spoken and very charismatic. His two problems are his lack of punctuality, and (this is really a bunch of issues rolled into one) how he uses people, such as tricking normie-cons to attended his events or hanging out with gay Jews and literal groomer pedos for "connections". That last one is a really big problem, like I don't understand how anyone could make that mistake.
