I think a big part of the problem with adoption is that people don't understand how much of Windows isn't Windows-only.

Interfaces carry over 99% intact. It's not like switching to Linux is a completely alien environment, different in every way. Most desktop environments on Linux are more like Windows than Mac is.

@arstechnica Locking phones to a network never served users. It was only ever intended to help the carriers raise the barriers against free consumer choice.

It should never have been allowed to begin with.
