@wgiwf @Some_German_Guy It's bizarre, because what aren't we seeing. Wagner doesn't have the manpower or logistics on its own to pose a threat to Putin, so either they have another advantage, or Prigozhin has simply gone nuts.
Disappointing, though, since this may harm the soldiers at the front, after three weeks straight of absolutely crushing the Ukrainian offensive. If this gives Ukraine an advantage in the field, it would be a disaster. -

@AidanTTIerian @wgiwf @Some_German_Guy Yeah, this definitely stinks of zog gayop, but it only ends in Russian collapse if Prigozhin has the strength to either overthrow the government, or disrupt combat operations enough to cause a collapse at the front that results in a lost war. As it stands, Wagner on its own doesn't have that kind of strength, so what's the angle?
Wagner is entirely reliant on the Russian regular military for all its supply and logistics, so they can't operate for long on their own.
Looking at it from a distance, it seems like a lost cause, which makes me wonder what Prigozhin/his CIA handlers have hidden up their sleeve.
Are they counting on a significant portion of the Russian military siding with Prigozhin? -

▪️The operational situation in the South-Donetsk direction.
▪️ For three days fierce battles have been going on in the area of Makarovka, Harvest, Rivnopol, Staromayorsky, in a number of areas of the Armed Forces of Ukraine they have been thrown back.
Significant reserves of the Russian army that approached along the Urozhaynoye-Novodonetskoye-Novomayorskoye line entered the battle, stabilizing the situation, according to enemy reports. Reinforcements are coming to other areas as well.

Heavy fighting continues on the Vremievsky ledge . Russian units were forced to retreat to the Makarovka-Urozhaynoye line. Despite the advance of the Russian assault groups to the north and the temporary return of control over Neskuchny , the Russian units failed to gain a foothold.
▪️Ukrainian formations accuse the Russian side of blowing up a dam across the Wet Yaly River: most likely, the explosion was carried out to slow down the advance of the enemy.
▪️The settlements of Makarovka and Urozhaynoye are under the control of Russian units: fighting is taking place on the near approaches to settlements.
▪️To the east, Ukrainian formations attempted to break through Russian positions at the Novodonetskoye-Novomayorskoye line, but were forced to retreat.

@Groomschild I don't want to declare that it's officially over for Ukraine, since that's still premature and they have a lot more resources to bring to bear, but even with this latest advance it's still just trading the edge of the line of contact back and forth, while the Ukes take 10:1 casualties doing it. Every time the Russians withdraw from a position on the LoC, the Ukrainians eat artillery and bombs the second they occupy it.
It's not a good sign for Ukraine, especially when the Russians have multiple hardened actual lines of defense going back 100km, and the Ukes are having trouble getting within line of sight of the first one.
The ukes may eventually reach the first line of defense, but how are they going to deal with that, if it takes multiple weeks and 30,000+ casualties just to get there? -

I'm not even sure what's going on here. It seems to be a bunch of bradleys and a leopard all bunched up in the gray zone, before they get hammered by either bombs or artillery, most likely artillery.
Were the ukes trying to use the bradleys to create a firing position for the leopard? This is ridiculous. -

Almost since midnight, Ukrainian formations have been trying to break through the defenses of the 70th and 291st regiments of the 42nd Motor Rifle Division and the 22nd special forces brigades of the RF Armed Forces at the Rabotino-Verbove line.
During all this time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine were only able to move a little, taking a tactical height at the turn. As a result, units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine lost more than 40 armored vehicles, including several Leopard 2A4 tanks.
Thanks to a well-built defense and mining approaches, the majority of Ukrainian mechanized units could not even approach the first line of the Russian army.
The forces of the 65th mechanized brigade, as well as the new 47th brigade from the 9th Army Corps, took part in the battles south of Malaya Tokmachka . To complicate the supply of the RF Armed Forces grouping, Ukrainian formations began to mine the paths with DM-31 magnetic mines.
