@Jens_Rasmussen @Shlomo @Some_German_Guy The overarching point I'm making is that there is limited strategic benefit in pushing past Bakhmut right now. I'm sure the Russian garrison there will be under some amount of pressure but both sides are likely to increase troops concentrations on the Zaporozhie and Slavyansk fronts, and decrease them in the Bakhmut-Soledar AO

@Jens_Rasmussen @Some_German_Guy @Shlomo Expect RU to blow past Chasov Yar fairly quickly then set up shop outside Konstantinovka. That is the southern anchor point of the "Banana of Doom"
The northern anchor is Slavyansk. That requires Seversk. That requires Avdeevka. That requires Maryinka. So expect the dominos to fall in that order.

@DK_Dharmaraj @Shlomo @Some_German_Guy We'll see how things develop. If what Prigozjin says is true, then the Ukrainians have a lot of soldiers around Bakhmut and further advances might take a different character than city fighting, but won't necessarily be easier.

@Shlomo somehow i have a feeling that the other city, something yar will be the next big battlefield by summer.
difference is, yar is the main supply hub for the entire uki operation, loosing or even just disrupting it, will be one hell of a blow.

@Some_German_Guy @Shlomo Chasiv Yar is a forward supply and command outpost, not a main base. At least as I understand it. Kramatorsk or Konstantinovka is the Bakhmut fronline headquarters, as far as the rumors I've heard.
The primary frontline might move elsewhere depending on what happens next.

@Some_German_Guy @BobsonDugnuttHB @Shlomo yeah people keep forgetting that the Iraq war was an anomaly that only happened because the fifth strongest army in the world was gang banged by a coalition of the strongest armies in the world that had half a year to prepare.
Russia on the other hand is like the 3rd strongest army and had no time to prepare going against a nation that has been building up defenses for years

@Some_German_Guy @Shlomo chasiv yar wil be quick I think it is pretty exposed on all side and about a fifth the size of bakmut

@Groomschild @Some_German_Guy @Shlomo The Russians are definitely going to want to take Seversk, too, and roll up the last remaining city of this defensive line. They still need to deal with the massive amount of Ukrainians on the flanks north and south of Bakhmut, though, and start pushing them back.

when the wagner boss said this war would take another 2 years or so, he was probably on point.
