@Rasterman @CoQ_10 They can deliver cars interstate via railroad or or a trailer on a semi. But the further away the higher the price.

I found a really low-mileage, fairly recent year Ford F-250 w/extended cab for sale at a dealership in Akron, Ohio for a price that was over $9,000 below market value. Even the carsguru website considered it almost too good to be true.

I contacted the dealership and am waiting for the Carfax, so I can see the vehicle’s service history and if it has been in any accidents. I’d really like to buy it if the Carfax comes up good, because my current truck is getting seriously long in the tooth.

No accidents, clean title, no damage or repair history. Of course I would have to make a trip out there to check it out in person and take it for a test drive, but it sure looks like a good deal.

@MaleGoddess @Rasterman @CoQ_10 The truck is a year 2015, 6.2 liter 2-valve V8. It’s got 89K miles in it, and they want 25 grand for it. The only thing I would do is pull that stupid box cover off the bed. I agree, it sounds like too good of a deal to be true, so I’m wondering what is in the Carfax once they send it.

@ArdainianRight @PraxisOfEvil I’m 50/50 that they even carry through with arresting him. This whole episode comes off like a stunt that all parties have agreed to participate in.

The Democrats get to placate an increasingly disillusioned and unmotivated voter base by subjecting public humiliation on their hated adversary. Trump gets a desperately needed injection of publicity into his election prospects which are diminishing as the GOP establishment steadily deserts him for DeSantis. And the FBI and DOJ get to set out a big piece of bait on the chance that they foil a plot by any stray “right wing extremists” attempting to act out on Trump’s behalf and thus justify their jobs and budgets.

It’s all too convenient and potentially beneficial for every party involved, for this to be an genuine act of politically-motivated prosecution.

In light of the trouble caused by the fedpost that was left on our instance’s timeline this afternoon, my host and myself have decided to follow suit with a few other instances and close DRC to new registrations.

This is a precautionary measure that I hate to have to take, but it is a necessary one to protect our instance and our users. We hope it won’t be permanent.

@matty @Awoo @zoomgoboom He was feuding with DRC this afternoon and started to go off the deep end. Then barely an hour later we get this bogus account showing up on our instance making a single, verbose fedpost in his telltale pompous writing style accompanied by outrageous criminal threats.

Years ago, a member of Linder’s VNN forum was arrested for leaving a backpack with a homemade bomb in it, at some street demonstration somewhere in the Pacific Northwest, I forget where exactly. And here today after Linder finishes throwing an online tantrum over being spammed with anime, I find a fedpost on my instance containing, surprise surprise, threats of violence to be carried out with a bomb.

@Awoo Alex Linder stooped to a new low today. He created a bogus DRC account and made a long and elaborate fedpost full of violent threats. Fortunately we caught the post fairly quickly and deleted the responsible account, but I have screenshots of the post. I’m debating whether I should post it publicly so the whole Fedi can see what a piece of shit Linder truly is.

And they’re doing it because they know that the .40 outperforms the 9mm in every regard except capacity, where it only comes up short by 1 round in most pistols.

40 S&W, even in target-grade factory loadings like American Eagle or Magtech or PMC, is still equivalent in terms of external and terminal ballistics to the lower end of .357 Magnum. And there are boutique loadings like Double Tap and Buffalo Bore that are almost on par with full-house .357 Magnum rounds. So having 11 rounds or more of .40 S&W concealed on your person is quite a lot of firepower.

They made them in 9mm and .40 when they first came out in 2019, but only the 9mm models are currently listed on the Smith & Wesson website. But you can still find factory new .40 versions on Gunbroker.

Mine was bone stock when I bought it, but I added a set of Trijicon night sights a few years ago and just recently added an Apex Forward-set trigger.

The Smith & Wesson Shield Plus is only millimeters or two wider in the grip frame than the standard Shield, but it holds 13 rounds as opposed to 7.

The subcompact .40 that I carry holds 10 in the magazine and one in the chamber, and it’s small enough that I carry it in pocket holster in my front pocket. So that’s one of the encouraging aspects of the direction the industry has gone with automatics — high concealability and thus comfort of carry, while increasing capacity.
