Not all repairs or accidents are reported on carfax. Carfax doesn't check with insurance agencies.
That is a crazy deal though.
When I was looking, I bought through an auction hunter guy. He'd buy all these used work trucks at auction, sell them for $1000 more than he bought them for, but he'd still be selling way under market value. His stock was completely empty every week. Just an empty parking lot of a used car business. We got our truck $2000 under market value, but we had to be at his dealership the day after the auction to get it, and his lot was already cleared out. The other trucks were on the back of flatbeds, another dealer bought them from him in another city 3 hours away.
So other dealers will buy stuff that's selling for under market value and turn around and sell them with their markup.
There's got to be a reason this truck is going for so low and no one has snatched it up already. Check consumer reports for that year and everything. Maybe something on that year model goes out early.

@MaleGoddess @Rasterman @CoQ_10 The truck is a year 2015, 6.2 liter 2-valve V8. It’s got 89K miles in it, and they want 25 grand for it. The only thing I would do is pull that stupid box cover off the bed. I agree, it sounds like too good of a deal to be true, so I’m wondering what is in the Carfax once they send it.
-
@MaleGoddess @CoQ_10 @Rasterman Well they just sent me the vehicle’s history. I dunno… On the surface I’m very, very, tempted to buy this thing. No accidents, clean title, no damage or repair history. Of course I would have to make a trip out there to check it out in person and take it for a test drive, but it sure looks like a good deal.

@CoQ_10 @admin I don't know that one. It seems to be a 1971 movie. Well, that's unfortunate you can't pay a guy to deliver you your car.
-
@Rasterman @CoQ_10 They can deliver cars interstate via railroad or or a trailer on a semi. But the further away the higher the price.
I found a really low-mileage, fairly recent year Ford F-250 w/extended cab for sale at a dealership in Akron, Ohio for a price that was over $9,000 below market value. Even the carsguru website considered it almost too good to be true.
I contacted the dealership and am waiting for the Carfax, so I can see the vehicle’s service history and if it has been in any accidents. I’d really like to buy it if the Carfax comes up good, because my current truck is getting seriously long in the tooth.

I'd be highly septical of this. I was in the market for a used truck for a month, and some trucks were selling for more than what they sold for new, especially low mileage ones.
No way anyone is letting a truck go for 9k below market.

@admin Isn't there a job where a guy drives a car to deliver it to you and then comes back on a plane or something? It has to exist. Or has society devolved to such a low trust level that it's safe to assume the guy would just steal the car?
-
@Rasterman @admin I think the movie Vanishing Point kinda ended that.

I gotta stop spending so much time on cargurus.com I end up finding too many good deals on pickup trucks that are too many states away to get to. :pepesad.png:
