@WashedOutGundamPilot@narada yeah lol they get lazy with the EDIDs and tend to reuse one across a whole series, can be funny if programs try to guess DPI based on the reported physical size
@WashedOutGundamPilot@narada using a smart tv as a monitor is still an uphill battle, they love to do stupid shit like silently get stuck in YCbCr420 mode until a reboot awful controllers, but it is the cheapest way to get the panels I like
@WashedOutGundamPilot@LouisConde Lying about having things they don't (a personality, interests) is generally fine, lying about not having things they have (microchimerism, student debt) should be a capital offense.
@coolboymew@wholemilk yeah, sampling bias when most people played none or at most one of the nominees for many categories ideally they just wouldn't vote, but w/e
@WashedOutGundamPilot@narada@Kyonko802 how many of the people telling him to do that have successfully soldered in a new USB-A port let alone a USB-C port?
@coolboymew@All_bonesJones@Moon@ageha@Vidmastereon "actually we balanced our game around people with normal vision having some degree of difficulty distinguishing these elements, if we added a colourblind mode people would use it to cheat"
@caekislove@mischievoustomato@All_bonesJones@Moon@coolboymew I played all three on PC and while XIII was the most limited at launch (IIRC only 1080p and 720p worked, anything else screwed up 2D overlays like minimap) they all ended up being "fine" in time. My biggest disappointment was building a new rig with a super speedy Samsung NVMe SSD and finding out that it didn't really put a dent in the crazy long load times in XIII-2 and Lightning Returns. I could copy the entire game directory faster than switching scenes in-game!
@coolboymew@ocean >they could have easily done a Mario 64 PC port themselves tbh the decompiler lads probably have a much better handle on old Nintendo engines than anyone currently on Nintendo payroll. Even if original staff and codebases are still around, it's been a long time.
@WashedOutGundamPilot@professionalbigot69 Blocking has effects on the network, e.g. it forces them to unfollow you, prevents them from refollowing you, and makes @madonline call you out. Muting doesn't, AFAIK.
@WashedOutGundamPilot@Shadowman311@Some_German_Guy@TalmudTranslator >they've been at it for a decade already and they're only just coming out with chips that are even somewhat competitive Putting out chips with TSMC N7-tier efficiency in 2023 is like lagging the cutting edge by half a decade. Incidentally, that's what Intel's fabrication looks like too with recent 14th gen results.
It's probably enough for China and America to realize whatever government or military ambitions they have, even if losing Taiwan stalls future improvement for lack of a proven roadmap to copy. Consumer gear would be a bit worse for some years, but life goes on.
